Introduction
History
The Theocracy of Boberno is the end result of the civil war fought between conservative Bobernois and the rest of the Greater Empire of TISNoBob. Fought between October 17 and November 22, 2006, the so-called "Boberno War" was started by a riot in Ankhara, capital city of the TISNoBob. By the end of the first week, fighting raged across the northern half of that country. The fighting technically ended in an informal cease-fire on November 12, when Emperor Bob I Rex recognized a significant portion of the northern half of the TISNoBob as an autonomous theocracy under the control of the conservative Archbishop Lukas Detrachen. Most non-conservatives left the region for less hostile areas of the country over the next week, while conservative Bobernois poured in. On November 22, Bob I Rex and Lukas Detrachen signed a formal treaty to end the civil war. The Treaty of 2006 established the Theocracy of Boberno, an autonomous region of the Greater Empire of TISNoBob. Bob I, nominal head of the Boberno Church, granted Detrachen the authority to act as his representative in the newly-created region. Detrachen took the name Lucius I Dei, to show his promotion in rank. While Boberno is technically still a part of the TISNoBob, it is largely closed off from the rest of the country. The treaty also established a regular flow of financial aid to stabilize the shaken economy of the still war-torn region. It remains to be seen whether the treaty is enforceable, or if TISNoBobern troops, still stationed at the border, will be moved into Boberno.
