General facts
The Federal Monarchy of Hugoland, in english, is the great powerhouse of the European Nordic nations. It is a Federation of 10 States, lead by the Officium Chancellari (Chancellery Office), which has been controlled by the Hugolandian National Union with a large majority in the Senatus (Senate). Although the Federation is, in theory, a Monarchy, the Regina has no power.
The capital city of the Federation in Sophiapolis. This city, home to 8 million people, is also home for the Chancellari Palatium (Chancellery Palace)and the Regia (Royal Palace).
Economically the country is lead by free trade policies. The contry is open to foreign investment, specially in the areas of tourism. The Federal State has a social network side by side with private pension systems, which are quite popular in Hugoland. The Chancellari tries to keep low taxes policies, while the main industries of the country are the Automobile Manufacturing and Leisure time services (Tourism, Discotheques, etc.).
The largest Hugolandian corporations are Pato(Alcoholic drinks, discotheques), Sociedade Torres & Torres (McBonifacius shareholder), Audy (Automomile production) and BFS (Ship building). These 4 Corporations represent 24% of the Hugolandian GNP. There are, however, thousands of smaller companies that have plenty of support from the Chancellari.

Federal Capital
As said above, the Federal Capital is Sophiapolis, host city of all the executive, legislative and judisdiction bodies.
Sophiapolis is also the State Capital of the Sophiapolis State.

The States are governed by state governments, which are not elected, but appointed by the Hugolandian Federal Cancellarius, which means the Federation is nothing more than theory, since every important decision is decided in Sophiapolis, as the states do not have local parliaments.

Senatus
The Hugolandian Senatus has only one chamber. It is the great decision place, where the Senatores, elected in direct elections by the population. It has the power to elect the Chancellarius, who forms his cabinet, the Officium Chancellari, that must be composed by members members of the Senate (the Senatores). The Chancellarius and his cabinet must be Senatores, and they continue to be Senatures with full rights.
Any Senatore can propose a bill, that needs the approval of the majority of the legislature. War, Peace and other international treaties must be approved by 2/3s of the legislature.

The Federal Regym
Regina
Her Majesty Regina SOPHIA III, or Sophia Mafalda Elleonor Beatrix di Pinto, is the sovereign monarch and head of state of the Federal Monarchy.
Her powers are almost nonexistent. The Regina has the power to chose the Senatus Praesident and she has the formal duty of representing Hugoland and the Hugolandians. The Regina signs all the bills that are approved in the Senatus, but she holds no veto power.
Her Majesty represents Hugoland in the events related to other Royal Houses, specially in Erlanger-Ansbach.
The Royal Family
The Hugolandian Royal Family, also known has House Di Pinto, was founded by HM Regina SOPHIA I, and nowadays is lead by Their Majesties Regina SOPHIA III and Prince Adrian of Erlagen-Ansbach.
They have been maried for eight years and they have three children: Crown Prince Michael (8), Princess Anna (6) and Princess Caroline (1), all the Princes were born in Erlangen-Ansbach.
Most of the Royal Family died in January 2005, when the Plane that transported the Royal Family crashed into the mountains. HM Rex FREDERICO I, his wife, HM Crown Prince DINIS and his wife, Crown Princess Ingrid were killed. Thus, SOPHIA III was called from her house, in Erlangen-Ansbach, to become Queen.
The Royal Chronology
The Family Di Pinto descended from Family Tructa, founded by the first known leader of the "Tructa City-States". Lord Tructa was the founder of the City of Tructa (renamed Sophiapolis in 1832). However, the Family Di Pinto only became the Royal Family when SOPHIA I seized the power in 1830. Since then, the Di Pinto's have been rulling Hugoland.

Chancellarius
Senatore Martelo Rebelo DE SOUSA (NHU) is the current Chancellarius. Elected in February. He is the most powerful man of the Federation.
The cabinet
The Cabinet of the Officium Chancellari is composed by only one Vice-Chancellarius and 8 Ministrus (Ministers). They have the responsability of leading and representing the country, and all of them are also Senatores, so, they must be able to defend their policies in the Senatus. Chancellari Agencies
Those are the Agencies under direct control and responsability of the Officium Chancellari. All the important reports of those Agencies must be read and approved to the Officium Chancellari. The Directors of those Agencies are nominated by the Chancellarius.
Security Intelligence Services (SIS)
The SIS are the Intelligence Agency of the Officium Chancelleri, they are responsable for monitoring the situation of the Federation. They have full power on all the Hugolandian States and on Hugolandian Embassies on foreign countries.
Program for the Increase of Private Investment (PIPI)
The PIPI is seen as essential to the Hugolandian Economy. Their work consists in helping small and medium companies with a range of services. The PIPI also helps Hugolandian enterprises interested in expanding to other European countries. Last but not lead, the PIPI has been extremely sucessful atracting foreign investment, essential to the Hugolandian Economy.
The PIPI is known for helping creating and advising the McBonifacius Corporation.
Tourism Investiment Program (TIP)
This program is seen as the latest effort of the Officium Chancellari to promote Hugoland. The TIP helps citizens who want to create their own business related to Tourism. This program plays also a very important role in the coordenation of the National Tourism Policy.
Hugoland is expected to become the number one winter tourism destination in Europe in few years.
Tribunal Supremu
The Tribunal Supremo (Supreme Court) is the highest court in the judicial branch of the Federal Monarchy of Hugoland. It consists of a five high-skilled Judices (Judges). The Supreme Court is the "court of last resort" for appeals-the final authority on any questions dealing with the Federal Law and acts of the Senatus. If a case is decided by the Hugolandian Tribunal Supremu, it cannot be appealed.
Economy
Hugoland is an open, free market economy, with very low taxes and tariffs, open to foreign investment. The National Priority is to develop tourism and leisure. Meanwhile, the ship yards work 24 hours/day to get the orders ready in time.
Discotheques, alcoholic beverage, restaurants, hotels, sky resorts and other industries related to Tourism became the backbone of Hugoland in the last years. Services are slowly overcoming goods, as the Automobile Industry slowly loses relevancy.
Automobile Manufacturing industry is still essential in the country. The Hugolandian Audy is one of the largest automobile manufactures of Europe. Despite it's success, the strong competition of other european Automobile manufacturing unveiled the weakness of the Hugolandian economy, that was completely based on this industry.
Thus, in 1991, an huge ship-building industry rose, and the habours of Sophiapolis soon became busy building hundreds of military and civilian ships.
However, the biggest step taken to transform Hugoland in a touristic paradise was very recent. The first measure of the Chancellarius De Sousa in March was creating the TIP - Tourism Investiment Program, which created atonishing results in few months. As a result of this program, Pato Corporation was created, and soon started selling alcoholic drinks to all over Europe and instaling discotheques in every Hugolandian city. The "Sophiapolis Heaven", the biggest European Discotheque, was built near the Sophiapolis' docks. It soon became a landmark of the Federation.
These measures are expected to lower the huge trade deficit, caused by the importation of oil and importation of food, since Hugoland has no oil reserves or agriculture (except the huge fishing industry, that cannot feed over 400 million people everyday).
The unemployment rate is 4.2%, and more jobs are created everyday.
Eighty-nine percent of the energy in Hugoland is obtained through Nuclear Power Plants, that are strictly controlled to avoid disasters.
Hugolandian Armed Forces

Five Star General António CARMONA is the Commander of the Hugolandian Armed Forces, he is appointed by the Officium Chancellari.
The HAF is divided in 5 branches: Air Force, Army, National Guard, Navy and Special Operations.

Royal Guard
The Royal Guard is the only Militarized Force under the direct control of the Royal House. The Commander is appointed by Her Majesty the Regina. The current Commander is the General Mario SOUSA.
The goal of the Royal Guard is to protect the Royal Family members and property all over Europe. That includes the Royal Palace, the Royal Yatch and many other.
