6 series divisions are those divisional formations of the Community Defence Forces of Sober Thought which end in the number 6. The series is conceived as one for motorised light infantry divisions designed to fight in urban areas.

About 65% of the battalions (and so indirectly, the personnel) are staffed by part-time citizen soldiers of the Civil Guard and 35% by fill-time professional soldiers of the CDF Land Service, exclusive of any divisional air support which would come from the wholly regular CDF Air Service.

Numbers of formations and units are given in full for the first wave and the formula for subsequent waves where w = number of population wave, n = a sequence in the regular forces and x = a separate sequence in the regular forces.

Notes

  1. 1st / w Light Infantry Brigade consists of three regular light infantry battalion before mobilisation, and is broken up to flesh out the Central and Cholmestay field brigades.
  2. Central Province as a whole contributes six battalions of engineers each wave, three each to the 6 and 9 series divisions. One of these six is raised as a battalion of the Schweindorf Engineers with a separate numerical sequence. There is not simple formula to indicate which battalion and which division will get the Schweindorf engineering battalion.
  3. Demi-brigades bear names only and not numbers, taking their identity from the division they belong to, e.g., Logistics Demi-Brigade of the 66th Light Infantry Division.
  4. While there is only one maintenance battalion in the division, from time to time or purpose to purpose it may be assigned to either or both of the engineering and logistics demi-brigades.
  5. Every third wave, the field brigades are reorganised into one division of regulars, one of Cholmestay Civil Guard and one of Central Province Civil Guard. Within the CG division, each brigade consists of all three battalions raised in those waves for each regiment.
