The Rat Flu war took a major toll on the economy of Adam Island. Still, most companies managed to survive in one for or another.

The Adam Island calendar year began in 2001, the year the monarchs officially handed power over to the democratic government. It runs on the standard Julian calendar adopted by most NationStates. It approximatly correlates to 15 days per 'real life' day, but only 1 day per rl day on Adam Day and during certain sports competitions.
