History

Alborio was founded as a dutch satalite in the late 1800's. Mostly used as storage or military training. While the countries name is not actually dutch the language of it is unknown as well as the reason to naming it. The Dutch King never revealed why he named the colony Alborio or if he ever truly had plans to settle. The colony remained virtually unoccupied till the 1900's. A group known as the Christian Peace movement began to protest against the wars and the secular movements of their countries. People began to feel values were breaking in down and began to find other places to settle that upheald the values of God. People began to flee to the dutch satalite country, braving stormy seas and miles upon miles of open terrain, including sharp and high mountain tops. People began to settle and start up farms.

Government

The new Dutch Colony abandoned the monarchy in favor of a presidental system. However it maintained a strict sense of morality and unified political intrests. There are multiple parties but it's usually seen as a two or even one party system. Most favor the Christain Party while some will go to smaller independent Parties. The second largest party is the Nederlandse Socialistische Partij (Dutch Socialist Party).

The main branches of the government include:

• The Executive Branch-Under the leadership of the Prime Minister and his advisors. It is fully inchrage of the entire country. Departments that fall under the Executive Branch:
  • House of Defense
  • House of Federal Law Enforcment
  • Ministry of the Internal

• Justice Branch-Oversees the courts in the country also Parliamentry Investigations. There is no Supreme Court as all power of justice falls under the Minister of Justice, and Prime Minister.

Culture

The culture is strongly conservative. People have a strong sense of family values and loyalty to God. It's estimated nearly the entire population is Christian however statistics are not certian as information is controlled.

Girls are generally encouraged to keep and maintain a modest dress. Many girls still wear dresses and seldom wear provacative clothing, except for maybe in private. Even boys are asked of the same so many wear old fassioned clothing.

Sundresses are acceptable, and widely popular, amongst girls. A sundress is one of the few exceptions girls can have bear shoulders.

Dressing provactive of skimpy in public usually carries stigma. Although the modest dress is widly practice and accepted there are thoes that do rebel against it. On the flip side there are many young girls who fight for it, with a Modest is Hottest slogan.

Dating is accepted but most parents prefer the traditional courtship especially with teenagers.

Much of Alborio remains unadulterated. 33% of homes do not use electricity or several kinds of modern appliances. 12% do not have television or radio Nearly 90% of homes do not have computers.

Liberalisim, Homosexuality, abortion are seen as tools of evil. Homosexuality and abortion are fully outlawed and liberalisim carries social stigma because of this a defacto outlaw is almost in place.

The Internal Ministry has stated 100% of the populus is Christian. However this data is not certian because it is a Christian Nation ran by a Christian government.

Climate

Alborio's climate matches that of temprate semi-steppe. climate.

Alborio recives 46 inches (1200 mm) annualy. southeast of the state, to about 16 inches (400 mm) in the southwest. Snowfall ranges from around 5 inches (130 mm) in the fringes of the south, to 35 inches (900 mm) in the far northwest. Frost-free days range from more than 200 days in the south, to 130 days in the northwest.

In spite of the frequent sunshine throughout much of the state, the state is also vulnerable to strong thunderstorms, especially in the spring. Many of these storms become Supercell thunderstorms. These can spawn tornadoes, often of F3 strength or higher. According to statistics from the National Climatic Data Center , Alborio has reported more tornadoes (for the period 1st January 1950 through to 31st October 2006) than any country in the area. It has also reported more F5 tornadoes than any other country. These are the most powerful of all tornadoes. Alborio averages over 50 tornadoes annually.

Law

Alborio's law is usually based on both common law and law of religion. Naturally being a Christian nation it maintains a strict sense of a morality laws. Homosexuality, adultery, abortion are all criminalized and punishable by law. The death penalty is instate but is seldom practiced.
