Allied States Army

The Allied States Army is the largest branch of the Armed Forces of the Allied States, and the General-of-the-Armed-Forces, Harold P. Myers is a veteran of the Army. Despite this, the army has been losing prestige over the last century, due to the advent of the Orbital Command and space travel that allowed the military to venture beyong the borders of the Sol system. Though always under threat of having dangerous budget cuts made, the skillful manueverings of two Army veterans who became politicians, Representative Jeremy McFord and State-Senator Ilard Jusviovni, the Army has been able to maintain it's place in the armed forces.

Command Structure

The command structure of the Allied States Army has recently changed over to the Reformed Ranking system, with each rank carrying three parts. The traditional rank (with a few modifications), the rating and specialization. A new adaptation specific to the Army is the progression through each rating, which is done through an nominal amount of seniority, in addition to the AFARPT, or the Armed Forces Army Rating Promotion Test. The organzation of the structure is as follows, in terms of unit type, designation and size.

Below, each branch of a full rank is detailed. The command branch is seperate in the army, and is required to be taken by combat NCOs and officers. Non-combat troops may not assume command in the field. The command designation is attached to the specialization.
