The [[Prussiatopia]] regime once had this region under an organisation called the 'Polar Union' which reunified several Arctic states. It had introduced the basis of [[communism]] in the region; this turned out to be a failure and so the region gradually became more [[capitalist]]. Soon, a mixture between [[fascism]] and [[capitalism]] ensued (that was largely supported by resources outside of the Arctic in the [[Polar Union]]) until the [[Ohrder]] regime was sworn in. Arctic remains one of the least explored, studied, and understood places on earth.

Arctic is currently under the 'fascesque' rule of the regional organization known as the Glacial Empire, which was founded under Ohrder with aid from The Ice Bears.

Once a widely communist region, a mixture between fascism and capitalism has become the prominent ideology within Arctic, which is largely supported by the GE. Ohrder is the presant UN delegate and regional representant of the GE. Some argue that despite the fact that Ohrder doesn't hold an official regime, he has many qualities of benevolent dictatorship. Although fascist elements exist, Arctic is largely capitalistic in economic nature. Arctic is also home to a small pocket of socialist nations, including Test Icicle, Aldaera, and former delegate Kjonnigland.

Although there was a slight economic depression after the Polar Union's collapse (figures range from 2 to 20% negative growth), the economy is said to have surpassed those times, but at a slower growth rate now than then.

Several nations from Arctic decided to form their own region, Freetopia. This region is now allied with Arctic and is a fellow member of the GE.
