DOMESTIC AFFAIRS OF ARMANY
The Federative Commonwealth of Armany is currently a free and independent nation that resides in the region of Christian Teens. The nation is a federative republic, with a bicameral legislative branch (National Congress, Federative Council) alongside a popularly elected, President-headed executive branch. The rights of Armany's 17 provinces are respected and they are given a place of power in certain governmental affairs.
REGIONAL ROLE-PLAYING STATUS
An ally of the former Commonwealth of The Titanian Democracy, Armany is currently involved in an ongoing war, alongside the TD's successor state, Aornia, with a nation that harbors terrorists and that has been linked with several horrendous incidents within Armany. Armany was drawn into war after the devestating assassinations of Titania's head of state, and was subsequently targeted with a terrorist attack upon its populous city of Parkersburg, in which the city was leveled by a nuclear blast. In the midst of scandal and subversion, Armany's officials were suspected of partaking in espionage against the allied powers of Armany and Aornia, and after several nuclear attacks upon the latter, it was found that the Secretary of the Air Force and the Attorney General were giving away military secrets to enemies of the state. These subversives were impeached by the National Congress, Armany's chief legislative body, due mostly to the work of the famous Congressman William Clay.
Armany is now under the administration of President William R. Nash, who is a lame-duck executive at the end of two consecutive five-year terms. His party, the National Republican party, is in the midst of nominating the governor of the province of New Armany, Julian Walker, as their candidate in the 2005 elections.
