Previously an independent nation before 1820 mostly inhabited by animals notably fridge owls when Bai Lung was invaded by the Koreans and was made part of Korean empire. It was ruled under the king's tenure for the next 20 years and ordered the mass culling of the fridge owls who often resides in cold caves. By 1840, the island was rediscovered by a Chinese merchant ship stopping by to gather supplies for the crew. Accidently, the crew bumped into a few angry natives and ended up beheading much of the crew. When the Chinese King heard news of barbaric activities, he ordered an army to head over to the obscure island and ordered an attack. It was eventually taken by the Chinese in 1845 but not before a very long and bloody battle between the Chinese and Koreans resulting in many lives.
