Introduction
Catlandatopia (or CLT) is a medium sized region established in 2005 by several notions, most notably Killerkatz, who currently holds the position of Queen of Catlandatopia. Currently, at the time of writing, the medium-sized region contains 110 nations; and is considered a major player on the international stage of NationStates. The region was founded on the principles of equality and freedom, hence the World Fact book entry that states, "Catlandatopia welcomes people of all races, religions, and political beliefs!" Furthermore, the system of government is a fusion between an absolute monarchy and meritocracy. The Queen holds near absolute power, but has many advisers and government ministers who are appointed on merit. Many powerful nations reside in Catlandatopia, thus making it a powerful region in the NS virtual economy. It continually attracted new nations, who are warmly welcomed to the region via recruitment campaigns. Furthermore, Catlandatopia is the center of an empire, which has established colonies throughout Nationstates, which include –Sudan, Kuwait, Laos, Spinward, and Imperium.
However, Catlandatopia has a zero tolerance policy to any nation who "spam" or derogatory remarks on the region's RMB or wiki entry, adhering to the NationStates and NSwiki's respective rules. Despite this, their have been several complaints about infringement of rules on this wiki entry, which had to be restored to an extent that it contain a neutral point of view.
Politics
The System of Government is a hybrid between an Absolute Monarchy and a Meritocracy, where competent leaders hold the Region’s top positions - a key factor in the region's growth and power. Additionally, many of the "Catlandatopians" are encouraged to or have joined the forums, where they can register to voluntarily help the region. There are three institutions to which new members can join -The Military, Propaganda Team or the Imperial Ambassador Academy, which help expand the region's military power and diplomatic ties.
Economy
According to the NS virtual economy calculator, Catlandatopia ranks as one of the most economically powerful regions in the NS world.
Foreign Affairs, and the Military
Catlandatopia has established many diplomatic relations with a wide variety of regions. However, diplomatic ties alter over time, as in real life nations, where new relationships have been formed and older ones severed. Although, the region maintains a neutral stance, it has a tendency to lean towards a raider-neutral position. This is most likely attributed to the region's presence in invaded region, following allies due to clauses in treaties between regions.
Security/Intelligence
Catlandatopia is known to have one of the most secure interactive networks in place.
History
The region of Catlandatopia was created after the destruction of Catlandatopia's "parent region" - Spinward. when Spinward collapsed, many nations scattered across NationsStates, fleeing to other regions. Eventually, the former UN Delegate of Spinward (and current founder of Catlandatopia), Killerkatz, decided to create Catlandatopia. She enlisted the aid of several nations including Catlandatropolis and Daedra1a to create the region and its forum. Soon, propaganda teams were created to ensure the region's expansion, embassies were exchange with foreign regions to strengthen diplomatic ties and power. Furthermore, an army was created to ensure the region's security.
