Introduction

Catlandatopia was established in 2005 by a nation called Killerkatz. It currently, at the time of writing, has 110 nations; and is considered a major player on the international stage of NationStates. Near absolute power rests with the founder, with government ministers serving as advisors to her rule. Despite the pledge that all political beliefs are upheld, many nations which demand devolved power from the founder to the government are kicked out. Many powerful nations reside in Catlandatopia, thus making it a powerful region in the NS virtual economy. Catlandatopia also boasts an impressive recruitment campaign; although newcomers tend to be anti-defender nation who have no opposition to the idea of a nationalistic expansion into an Empire through covert subjugation. Although the region proclaims that it is strictly neutral in defender-raider conflicts, the recent invasion of San Francisco Bay Area involved forces from Catlandatopia. It is accurate to say that Catlandatopia will get involved when its sphere of influence is threatened, and when there is an opportunity for further expansion. Thus, many defender organisations have officially labelled Catlandatopia as a raider.

The Catlandatopian Empire does not rule through direct military command. Instead, convert subjugation is used to install friendly governments, much like the Soviet domination of Eastern Europe in real-life. Certainly, many regions welcome Catlandatopia as their overlord, but many other regions have experienced substantial internal turmoil as a result of Catlandatopian attempts to command them. It is unclear how many regions are a part of the Catlandatopian Empire

Politics

The founder has near-absolute power, with a team of advisors supporting her rule by maintaining various departments on her behalf. There is no system in place to overide the power of the founder; and ministers are appointed on her wishes. Many, such as representatives of the DSA, believe she suffers from acute paranoia.

Economy

According to the NS virtual economy calculator, Catlandatopia ranks as one of the most economically powerful regions in the NS world.

Foreign Affairs, and the Military

Catlandatopia has established many diplomatic relations with a wide variety of regions; excluding defender regions. However, many relationships have been fractured regarding Catlandatopia's position on raiders and defenders. Catlandatopia has never militarily supported a defender region against attack, but has often send forces to assist invasions of defender regions; and also uses its military to quash resistance in region inside Catlandatopia's sphere of influence.

Intelligence

Catlandatopia is known to have one of the most secure interactive networks in place.

History

The creation of Catlandatopia is much like the quote above, it was created after the destruction of Catlandatopia's "parent region" - Spinward. After the immediate destruction of Spinward, many nations scattered across NationsStates, fleeing to other regions. Eventually, the former UN Delegate of Spinward (and current founder of Catlandatopia) Killerkatz decided to create Catlandatopia. She enlisted the aid of several nations to create the region and its forum. Soon, propaganda teams were created to ensure the region's expansion, embassies were exchange with foreign regions to strengthen diplomatic ties and power. Furthermore, an army was created to ensure the region's security and that of its possessions.
