Background
Citalta was first settled in the late nineteenth century by pro-socialistic peoples escaping the opressive rule of colonial powers. Citalta is little known and has been involved in few conflicts. Citalta has a great amount of resources and is located in the RollerCoasterWorld region.
Government
Citalta is a Democratic Socialist nation. Citalta's government is made up of several branches: Legislative, Executive, Militaristic, and Judicial.
The Legislative Branch is made up of the Parliment, an elected body made up of representitives from each province in Citalta. The Parliment makes decisions on foreign policy, laws, and economics.
The Executive Branch is made up of the President and Prime Minister. The nation is led by the President, who may veto laws and propose foriegn policy. The Prime Minister proposes and may veto economic and trade-related policy. The President is elected and the Prime Minister is appointed by the President, then approved by the Parliment.
The Militaristic Branch is made up of the Military Council. The members of the Military Council must be at least Colonels in the Citaltan Armed Forces and are then elected into office. The Parliment is responsible for approving Militaristic appointments.
The final branch, the Judicial Branch, contains the High Court. The Citaltan High Court must approve laws, making sure they are constitutional. The High Court also may take on signifigant criminal or civil cases.
Space Exploration
A large portion of Citalta's yearly budget is devoted to space, and it shows. Citalta has two twin space stations, the Eagle and the Cuhna, and each can accommodate 57 scientists, engineers, and other laborers. Both have a docking bay, hydroponics lab, mess hall, assorted sleeping areas, and many labs. Citalta also has seven brand new state-of-the-art shuttles accomodating 23 each.
A goal of Citalta in the United Nations will be to push through an effort to put a space station in to orbit around Jupiter.
Other Information
Citalta has a Tropical Climate with medial rainfall. Citalta has no public debt and exports large amounts of petroleum in exchange for manufactured technology such as hydrogen vehicles. Citalta runs a large space program, favoring expansion into the stars. The Citalta national animal is the appropriately named Citalt Eagle, and the Citalta Currency is the Citaltan Dollar.
Citalta requires one year of military service for youth, as it builds character and supports our nation. Law and Order is a significant value in Citalta.
