Cliffton Soverign Area is an island under the juristication and full control of the government of Maanenland although is not a part of the nation. To avoid confusion the Cliffton county of Maanenland is reffered to as Clifton Duchy , the city is refered to as Cliffton and the soverign area is refered to as Cliffton Nation.
History
The island was founded by the Duke of Cliffton in ancient times and was run (as it is today) by the council of the City of Cliffton. However all legislation from the mainland must be passed before the island's civil parish and so thus technically have an independant legislature
