The Army of the People's Will, known more commonly as the Coalition Army, was a large fighting force and official militant wing of COTPW. It was active from six months before the Kasnyian Civil War until three weeks before the war's end two years later, when General Gassel officially dissolved it. While officially considered to no longer exist, it is believed that parts of this force are still extant in rural Kasnyia or have merged with the Topaz Army.

Formation

The Coalition Army was formed out of a multitude of independant fighting forces: The Armed Protection Service of the Topaz Faction, the Warrior Monks of Jilla, the People's Army of Kasnyia, and various small mercenary organizations. Before, these fighting forces would perform joint operations that would be organized by the leaders of the various factions of COTPW in a employer/employee relationship. As tensions between the COTPW and the government, General Gassel ordered the fighting forces to be reorganized into a professional-style army. He placed his most trusted lieutenant, Colonel Kurt Augersmann, to head the task of reorganization which was accepted with great enthusiasm.

Soon, within three months, a professional army was formed and started training in the Indian hinterlands outside of the control of any government.

Military Buildup

Within months of organizing, Gassel convinced Cardinal Valentin to procure weapons, mostly from corrupt members of the East India Company, primarily General Terrence White, who would later be military administrator of Bengal. They also managed to arrange for more powerful and expensive weapons, like tanks and other warmachines, to be delivered courtesy of Shoa Conn.

The Proletariat Magnus, with it's powerful backing of Karl Van Bein, who headed the eponymous Van Bein Industries, also had weapons built and designed for the COTPW at a secret factory in Hermannstadt.
