General Info

Cricket Schiavonia have been preparing their best pitches (OK, scorinator) across the Forty-Six Islands in preparation for a domestic cricket league. Then they thought, hey, why not invite teams from around the world to our country?

So that's what they decided to do. After seeing various levels of success with cricket tournaments in the past, they set their sights at being one of the minority of Cricket World Cups that have actually been completed. By our reckoning, there have been about seven attempts before, so this one we will be calling Cricket World Cup VIII.

The format is simple. You sign up, and your team plays. No need to submit players with different skill levels or anything like that as in cups gone by. Of course, without any official rankings, RPing will help, what with the bonus from it being the only seperating factor between the quality of the teams.

At present, there is just this One Day International (games of 50 overs maximum per side) tournament planned by Cricket Schiavonia, although a growth in popularity would encourage them to set up a new NationStates Cricket Council (NSCC), in which teams would play at first only ODIs and later also Test Matches (two innings of unlimited overs lasting five days maximum) and Twenty20 (games of 20 overs maximum per side).
