Darrowmere is a fairly new country, located in the East Pacific.

History

Darrowmere was once a land of near constant warfare. Several tribes of the indigoeous peoples warred for control of the land. Tribes were often being destroyed and formed, but there war, on average, about half a dozen tribes at any given time. But then, in 1547, the leader of the largest tribe made a pact with two other tribe leaders. The three brought their tribes together in peace. The new tribe was called Callisidrin or "the spirits' chosen". The new tribe went about and added to its size by absorbing other tribes.

In 1602, the remaining tribes realized the threat this giant tribe posed and made a hasty alliance. The two sides marched on each other and began to do battle. After almost two weeks of fighting, the Callisidrin tribe emerged the victor in the conflict. Adopting the remaining tribespeople, leader Rastin established several permanant cities. The largest of these Aydindril, became the capital city.

Government

Though many revolutions have shaken the entire world, and most other nations have adopted democracies, or at least the image of one, Darrowmere remains a monarchy. The new leader is selected by the old and serves for their entire life, unless deemed unsuitable for leadership. The leader presides of the ruling council, who are essentially ambassadors from other large cities that make decisions on major issues.

Religion

There is no official named religion. Several Catholic churchs exsist and there is a mosque in Aydindril. However, most of the population is very shamanistic, believing in otherworldy spirits and the balance of good and evil. In fact, roughly 97% of the population belong to shamanism.
