infobox Founded in the 15th century AD, The Constitutional Monarchy of Daufuskie has a long history of isolationism, wanting little to do with war, despite several invasions in the 1800's. The Government consists of a powerless council and a Monarch-Dictator. Despite this, the government works hard to ensure that people have extensive civil rights. Recent breaks in the isolationist policy have led to trade and an upgrade to the military.

History

For quite sometime, the nation was ruled solely by various Native Tribes, and to this day the Natives live relatively un-oppressed. The land was discovered by the New Roman Empire explorer Julius Brutus in 1402. The name of the land arose from a mixture of several languages, but roughly translated, it means ‘a departure from civilization.’

Colonization

By 1450, there were over a million colonists living in the distant land, and a new emperor had taken power in the New Roman Empire. The land was popular for its rich soil and freedom; while Catholicism remained the major religion, people came to Daufuskie were able to practice how they wanted. Unlike the British Colonists of America, these New Romans were very tolerant of the Natives and accepted them into culture. Disease was still a problem, it is for this reason that de facto segregation set in. In the 20th century this would begin to disappear with mass vaccinations.

Independence

In 1451 the Emperor of the New Roman Empire called for greater unification of all the provinces, including Daufuskie. The Daufuskien people were not happy; the Empire took down local governments and put in a single colonial governor. A massive revolt soon took place, which turned into a seven year war. The War ended with the Treaty of Madrid, in which the New Roman Empire officially surrendered and turned over all lands to the Daufuskien government in exchange for a free trade agreement between the two nations.

Civil War and Monarchy

Many people called for the government of the nation to be republic, equally many called for a monarchy, between 1470-1474 both sides fought vigorously, and each nearly expended the other. It looked as if the nation was to become ruled by anarchy, however, Nero Titus, a young prominent supporter of monarchy, stepped forward and proposed a limited monarchy system that won both sides over. Despite its eventual uselessness, the polices of freedom and representation laid down by Nero Titus have kept the nation going for centuries.
