Government

Deutschen Bundeslander is a Catholic Theocratic society. The Holy Order, as the top officials of the Government Cabinet are referred to, is known to be very conservative in their rulings. There are two main branches in the Government, first is the Holy Order which consists of:

The Holy Order

  • Archbishop: The leader of the nation
    • Bishop: Relgious leaders within a certain geographical area

Note: The Archbishop and Bishop can only be removed or elected by an order of the Pope

The Elected Committee

The second part of the Government is The Elected Committee:

  • Delegate: Delegates are the highest elected officials, they give advice to the Bishop as to what the population needs.
  • Judge: Judges are advisers of the Bishop concerning legal issues
  • Mayor: The mayor is the elected official of a city that makes minor decisions concering financial issues
  • Councilor: A Councilor is the lowest elected official, their main objective is to discover the sentiment of the public. This information is then delegated up the chain of command.

Religion

Religion is a crucial part of life in Deutschen Bundeslander. Although Catholicism is the official religion and is the governing body of the country, other religions are recognized. A poll taken in October of 2006 had the following findings:

  1. Catholicism: 85%
  2. Mormonism: 5%
  3. Islam: 2%
  4. Baptist: 2%
  5. Atheist or Agnostic: > 1%
  6. Other: ~5%

People

Deutschen Bundeslander is a diverse, devout nation. Not attending Church is seen as a very taboo subject. The general population is very conservative, and liberal rallies are generally unheard of. No official figures have been obtained as to the ethnic make up. It is known that many Bunders are of German decent due to historical events.

History

Pre-Theocratic

Deutschen Bundeslander was founded as a Conservative break-off from Germany. Originally founded a Multi-Party Republic, the Catholic Theocracy was not founded until the death of the first Chancellor. When Chancellor Johann Helmut died, a mass uprising within a Pseudo-Anarchist sect to tear down the government occured. The uprising was crushed, but the nation was scarred. Elections were setup for May 1995, the Catholic Union won with 90% of the vote; almost unheard of in elections. The general sentiment within the dominate Catholic country was for a theocracy to be established. After a public vote was setup, the legislation won by 99.8%, an estimated 200,000 voted against the legislation.

Post-Theocratic

Within three months of the public vote of a theocracy being established, a letter to the Pope for an appointment of an Archbishop and Bishop was sent out. A week later in August of 1995, Archbishop Michael Schneider and Bishop Gabriel Zimmer were appointed as the leaders of the New Holy Order of the Holy Republic of Deutschen Bundeslander. After Archbishop Michaels death in September of 2002, Bishop Gabriel Zimmer was appointed as the Archbishop and the Pope appointed Bishop Benedict Opul.

Flag

The flag of the Deutschen Bundeslander consists of three sections each with a specific meaning or purpose.
