Dominik Hasek- An Overview
Dominik Hasek has about 225 million people, but it grows rapidly. The government passes bills at breakneck speed, but they have been known to dismiss a large percentage of proposals or complaints. There is a large group attempting to save the little landscape the country has left, known as "The Save the Rainforest Association". Dominik Hasek has nearly no drug laws and no prisons, and is classified by the U.N. as a Civil Rights Lovefest. Here's what the World Factbook has to say:
The Holy Empire of Dominik Hasek is a huge, environmentally stunning nation, remarkable for its complete lack of prisons. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, intelligent population of 210 million hold their civil and political rights very dear, although the wealthy and those in business tend to be viewed with suspicion.
The medium-sized, corrupt, liberal government is effectively ruled by the Department of Social Equality, with areas such as Religion & Spirituality and Healthcare receiving almost no funds by comparison. The average income tax rate is 17%, but much higher for the wealthy. A substantial private sector is dominated by the Information Technology industry.
Soldiers are slaughtered in their thousands due to lack of training, eight year-olds can be seen lighting up in public areas, the children of Dominik Hasek are often remarked upon for their cheery attitude to extreme violence, and burglary is widely regarded as the national sport. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is crippling, probably because of the country's utter lack of prisons. Dominik Hasek's national animal is the dominator, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the franque. -World Factbook
The History of Dominik Hasek
One day, Dominik Hasek's founder (Mark Goodbody) stumbled upon the country of Voikl, who was participating in defending a region called Camino. Directed to the leader, Mark Goodbody was told to go up in arms and get himself a nation so that he, too, could fight in the name of Camino. So he and the founder of Red Hot Hell (Beezlebub von Finkleberg) created two allied nations, now known as The Holy Empire of Dominik Hasek and The Republic of Red Hot Hell. They joined the fight for Camino at once, and were happy for a long time. But then some of Goodbody and von Finkleberg's companions noticed they had been away for a great deal of time, and upon arriving in Camino, found what had become of their friends. So many of them made nations, among which are The Dictatorship of His Supremacy Joe, The Republic of the TIERS Doctrine, and The Holy Republic of the Danzites. But these nations did not want to join Camino, so Goodbody and the leader of His Supremacy Joe (Dan Ronberry) set out to form a new region, known as Hobotica XIII.
The Hobotica Legacy
Along with Ronberry, Goodbody set up a relatively small region known as Hobotica XIII. This region grew quickly as more of Ronberry and Goodbody's compatriots joined in the fun. Quickly along came Fred Taylor Danza, of The Holy Republic of the Danzites, and Bill Kramer, of The Rogue Nation of the Shoetits. After reaching about 9 nations, the traveling Nationstates group led by the Airborne Flock of Migrating Geese passed through for about a week. They intrigued Goodbody enough to where he took his nation and left to travel with them, but was accepted lukewarmly, and therefore decided to not travel. At the same time, Danza created a new region, known as Hobotica XL (A.K.A. Hobotica X(tra) L(arge)), and refused to let Goodbody or Ronberry in. Since Goodberry did not feel well enough to face his former companions who he had left, he returned to Camino. There have been talks of Goodberry going back to Hobotica XIII, but he has maintained that he is happy in Camino, and will stay.
Return to Camino and Movement Towards Anarchy
Camino welcomed their old friend with open arms, even after he had left them. They were in the middle of a standstill in their war, but were happy to take anyone they could get. Dominik Hasek was then admitted into the U.N. Shortly after the retreat to Camino, the government of Dominik Hasek became largely anarchist, and started passing bills that banned prisons, large amounts of taxes, and freed up people to have more civil rights and political freedoms than they could have dreamed. Recently, Dominik Hasek was named the most liberal nation in Camino by a landslide. The government has said that despite the laws previously passed, they would like to become one of the world's biggest anarchies.
