The Rogue Nation of Don Flanioso is a huge, safe nation, remarkable for its complete lack of prisons. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 235 million are ruled by a mostly-benevolent dictator, who grants the populace the freedom to live their own lives but watches carefully for anyone to slip up.
It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Law & Order, Defence, and Commerce. The average income tax rate is 48%, but much higher for the wealthy. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Automobile Manufacturing industry, followed by Soda Sales and Basket Weaving.
The right to free speech is being drastically curtailed, roads are often attended by round-the-clock construction crews, all footpaths have tollbooths, and record sales of 'child-whacking sticks' have been recorded. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is well under control, thanks to the all-pervasive police force. Don Flanioso's national animal is the Al Pacino, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests.
