History
Dawn of Drashonaf
From the line of the warlord Vandaugh came the first Kings of Drashonaf. The feudal society did not flourish, but neither did it fail and most were happy enough with the state of the nation. Those few malcontents who occasionally arose were put down quickly enough and the rest of the populace were left to continue their lives undisturbed.
The Communist Era
During the reign of King Aldor III dissent grew. Through no fault of the King the nations economy fell into a slump and poverty amongst the lower classes grew more pronounced than ever. Amid this crisis grew the seeds of revolution, a working class movement to bring a supposed equality to the people of Drashonaf by removing the class system entirely. The revolution succeeded and the King was forced to flee with his wife and two sons to the eastern mountains of Drashonaf. However the communist rule was not the enlightened freedom the people had hoped, the uneducated leaders of the coup quickly plunged the nation into it's darkest days.
Remiel Returns
After his fathers death at the hands of a communist assassin, Prince Remiel took command of the monarchist forces. Ever agressive and opportunistic he stepped up his peoples guerilla campaign, heralded by a series of bombings in Karradol. Impressed by his leadership abilities the Drashonaf Arms Consortium, which had been requisitioned by the communists, defected to join the monarchists and back Remiel in his bid for power. By making him a company director he was given access to the Consortiums vast resources including a number of subsidiaries kept secret from the communists. With this mercenary army in his hands he swiftly rolled across Drashonaf cutting of the communists from each other and leaving only Karradol and the military base at Granite Ridge in the north of the country under communist control. After a fifteen hour battle through the streets of Karradol, which Remiel led from the front, the communist government was rounded up before they could flee and promptly executed as traitors. After this Granite Ridge surrendered and the country was reunited under the royal line of Vandaugh.
Drashonaf Today
After a short period of relative disorder in which various companies (most notably the Drashonaf Arms Consortium) went virtually unchecked Remiel is bringing the nation back into line. Now that order is being reistablished a number of companies have been nationalised and others granted government contracts. Plans have been put forward to lower taxes and a proposal to enter into the UN is under debate.
