History

Founding of Aniane

For thousands of years the Archipelago of Aniane, the current day site of the Trade Union, was an unknown, undiscovered, volcanic chain in the middle of a vast deep notoriously stormy sea. As throughout the globe many nations had flourished for a few thousand years, the nomadic tribes of the frigid archipelago did not make any sort of move to create governments until the year 1175 Spaam Time (ST) when almost a dozen nations sprang up almost simultaneously. These now defunct Nations were practically city states, most only a few dozen square miles, and based around one city. these now defunct nations include Therasopolis (not to be confused with present day theresopoliss), Garvais, and Aniane itself. In this seeming chaos arose one nation centered around the City of Coronet, it would go on to either take control or influence the entire Archipelago. This was the nation of Aniane, founded July 1056 it would grow and prosper as a Father Knows Best State until the recession of 1339.

Recession of 1339 and Fall of Nations

For almost 300 years Aniane and its subject states had prospered in the Archipelago but in 1337 A wave of crop failures and typo plagues lead to a revolt in 1338 against the government whom they believed to be withholding the needed food and health supplies they needed. The army's of Aniane began to crush the revolt in the the western part of the chain island by island showing absolutely no mercy to those it captured or fought. These atrocity's, in conjunction with heavy taxes for commerce to outlying islands, lead to a civil war of the islands of current day Jacosta, Therasopoliss and part of Albalast. For the next 4 years they would rage battle after battle with no end in sight. In the midst of these chaos corporations and private militias began fighting for power, with each side to busy fighting each other the two opposing factions of Aniane fell into disarray and the islands of the Archipelago came once again under the rul of warlords for another 700 years.In 1394, two Dozen years after the warlords had taken over, A Coalition of Radical Factions pressed onto the last Aniane Liberation Army Stronghold in the mountainous northwest of Albalast, six thousand familys were evacuated to a small coral atoll far offshore were they would live as the Archipelago of Anianes Government in Exile.

Armando Carvalho Reunites Aniane

In 2016 SP Armando Carvalho came to power over a small waring clan in eastern Albalast. He was an ever cunning man, a great manipulator and well skilled at things like diplomacy and well studied in the art of war. Via vigorous Diplomacy and War he quickly took over all of the Archipelago of Aniane with relatively little bloodshed. He rebuilt the Redeemed the Aniane Civilization, he built and built, roads, schools, he instituted an era of peace and freedom rare in any nation. In 2019 two years after he came to power he sailed with a mighty fleet to the small coral island of Atu' Buta`i were for seven hundred years the Aniane Government in Exile had lived constantly on the brink of death. The Newly Proclaimed Carvalho I King Of Aniane welcomed them onto the fleet. He later at an unprecedented meeting of the newly formed parliament stated that he would rule as an Absolute Monarch for Nine more years until, when that time was up give his power to the parliament in the form of a new constitution outlying the plans for a Monarchy-Republic. In 2028 he did give his power up to the parliaments new constitution. The Constitution Gave most of the power to the elected parliament but give the monarch the power, to declare wars, call for new elections, dispose any politician he seems fit with 2/3 parliament approval, override the parliament as long as they don't re-override him with 2/3 vote.

Albalast is Born

Once Carvalho took the Aniane government-in-exile off of there island home, he gave them power over the Province of Albalast. In 2109 the Fifth King of Aniane, King Sio, an Albastian himself, gave Albalast and the surrounding islands complete Sovereignty, although of course they were still bound together by trade deals, mutual protection pacts and likewise. This was looked down at by many politicains with disgust, Sio Bilbe, was under scrutiny for corruption to begin with and the giving up of Aniane soil for no relevant reason was looked at as unacceptable, he was assassinated two years into his reign.

With Sio's Assassination his eldest daughter Queen Jamillia took the throne in 2139 at the age of only 19. She immediately annexed Albalast and put its subject states, Jacosta and Therassopolis under the rule of governors. She was a most competent leader who ruled with a regal and dignified bearing, she was headstrong and compassionate. During her tenures as Queen, she cultivated a coterie of handmaidens, young women of a similar age and with a striking similarity to her. These handmaidens acted as bodyguards, decoys and confidantés to their mistress, roles devised by Jamillia's Head of Armed Forces, General Roos Tarpals, who insisted the new queen be trained in self-defense and weapons usage. In Summer of 2153 she called for new elections to be held after A group of Parliament members had aided and helped plan an overthrow attempt by radical socialists. Although the Summer Coup failed the confidence of the people and there Queen in the elected officials faltered, on the eve of the new year the Queen gave up all her power to the newly elected Premier of the Aniane Parliament Andre Popov Emanuel III. The Monarchy was effectively Disestablished and became nothing more than a figurehead, with no power other than being A sort of Spiritual Leader of the People. Jamillia died in 2156 with no heir and the monarchy was ended.

Capitalist-Communist War

Premier Andre Popov Emanuel III when he came to power in 2153, launched an immediate investigation into the attempted Summer Coup of 2153, after two and a half years of investigation in 2155 the Coup was apparently organized by the Aniane Socialist Underground, a terrorist group funded by the Socialist International. Anti Socialist/Communist Feelings became widespread, and in January of 2155 the Government of the Trade Union Realesed the Following:

"There comes a time when evil should be forsaken and malevolence destroyed. Communism is the ultimate form of evil, it consumes nations and turns them into nothing more than economically inferior liberal nations that are never even close to freeing themselves from the chaos of anarchy. We should initiate an all out war against communist and socialist nations with there small fragile economy and shitty military they will be a pushover WHOS WITH ME?" - Albalastian Government

Once this statement found its way to the desk of the Chancellor of the Ryou Black Islands he quickly reacted by declaring war. There was A huge outpouring of support to Albalast once the War began.

The first strike was made by the Communists on the Albalastian Port city of Bandel. The bombing of Bandel ruined about half of the city; most of the damage occured in the waterfront areas. However, due to an early warning from the outlying coral islands, most civilians were able to flee in time. 64,145 dead civilians were left dead that morning. The Albalastians, as the enemy fighters left Bandel,

"...the newly activated Trade Union Defence Network opened fire with a large amount of small sized anti aircraft missiles as they headed out over the sparsely populated outlying islands. Then with much of the flight group decimated a small contingent of fighters from Aniane swarmed the unprotected bombers."

Hundreds of Enemy planes were downed over the Sea, and peace talks began after that had occurred. After 6 months of deliberation the Ryou Black Islands Disappeared from the table and stop all diplomacy, although no peace treaty was signed, the war was presumed over.

Post War Era

On August 21st Premier Andre Announced in a Televised Adress to the Entire Trade Union that:

"...the war is over, I cannot claim victory but I cannot claim defeat, we halted the enemy before there armies could even set foot on our soil. Our Brave Soldiers of our small Nation ( at the time only twenty million souls) Have halted the advance of A world Power!We have been tested, but we have emerged stronger. Under the New Order, our most cherished beliefs will be safeguarded. We will defend our ideals by force of arms. We will give no ground to our enemies and will stand together against attacks from within or without. Let the enemies of the Empire take heed: those who challenge our resolve will be crushed. We move forward as one united people: the Citizens of the Federation of Albalast-Aniane! We will prevail. Ten thousand years of peace begins today!"

He Went on to announce that the Federation of the Four Nations of Jacosta Therasopoliss Aniane and Albalast Would Be United Under one Single Governemnt instead of A loose confederation, the four semi autonomous countrys would be united into one under a new constitution. He declared Roman Catholicism to be the Official Religion, English to be the Language and began transfusing funds away from the Military to other sectors. Even With that Triumphal Speech out of the Public eye he was thankful that nothing worse had happened, throughout the war the enemy had threatened to use Nukes, and to use there 8 million man army to invade the Trade Union.
