The Corporate Theocracy of Finklestadt, according to the United Nations report is a "huge, safe nation, remarkable for its devotion to social welfare. Its compassionate, cynical population ... [is] highly moralistic and fiercely conservative, in the sense that they tend to believe most things should be outlawed. People who have good jobs and work quietly at them are lauded; others are viewed with suspicion."
National History
"The Founding"
Finklestadt was founded approximately 1,000 years ago by a small group of settlers looking for a land where they could observe their own religious beliefs. This group was highly devout and simply called themselves the "Theocrats". They established Finklestadt in honor of the movement's founder André Finkle. Over time, many people flocked to Finklestadt to join the Theocrats in their beliefs. Once the population of the country reached 5 million, the government set out in the International scene. Originaly, Finklestadt had joined a region called The Combined Powers, but the group of nations that formed that region soon split. Finklestadt bounced from region to region looking for a place to strike out and call home. Dealing with invasions in a number of regions, the Finklestadtians looked for a peaceful place to live. That is when the nation settled into the region Oceania a region based on the ideals of Democratic Socialism. The Finklestadtians stayed in the peaceful region of Oceania for a number of years even serving for some time as the United Nations Delegate for the region. During the time in Oceania, the nation leaned towards very Democratic Socialist policies, focusing on Religion and Spirituality, Social Welfare, and the Environment, but seemed to slowly drift away from the original beliefs of the Theocrats and the Nation's founding fathers.
"The Rise of the Eco-Theocrats"
As the Finklestadtians became very involved in the protection of the Environment, they found a powerful enemy in the world, called "Terrorism, Inc.", a pro-industry, anti-environment, extremist group. In response to threats made by "Terrorism, Inc." a new political party was formed. This party was known as the Eco-Theocrats, and believed in the spirituality of nature. They were led by Quincy Jefferson, a descendant of the orginal Theocrats, who wished to bring the nation back to these ideals. The party grew in popularity as the Terrorists made more attempts to attack the country. An undercover operation by the FIA (Finklestadt Intelligence Agency) captured the leaders of "Terrorism, Inc." and the political parties split. Two sides, the Eco-Theocrats, and the Corporate-Theocrats, differed on their stance on business. Both parties, though, did hold the Environment in extreme importance, and followed the beliefs of the Theocrats.
A majority of the Nation followed the Corporate-Theocrats and set up the Corporate Theocracy of Finklestadt under the rule of Quincy Jefferson II, the son of the Eco-Theocrats founder. The other citizens set up the Eco-Theocracy of New Finklestadt.
"The Corporate Theocracy"
With the establishment of the new government, Finklestadtians felt their political beliefs no longer fit with those predominant in the region and felt the naggine urge to move. That is how the nation found themselves in their current region Republicans. The Eco-Theocracy of New Finklestadt stayed in Oceania

Economy
The economy of the Corporate Theocracy of Finklestadt is based around the ideals of clean industry and importance of the environment while strengthining the economy. Due to the time the government spent in the realms of Democratic Socialism, the Economy is trying to recover and is making substantial progress. The major industry of Finklestadt is Soda Sales.
The southern region of Finklestadt is the major industrial center of Finklestadt with the northern region based in agricultural processes.
