Location: the West Pacific. The Protectorate of Fistenberg is a large, environmentally stunning nation, notable for its strong anti-business politics. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 23 million are ruled by a mostly-benevolent dictator, who grants the populace the freedom to live their own lives but watches carefully for anyone to slip up.
The enormous, corrupt government is effectively ruled by the Department of Law & Order, with areas such as Social Welfare and Healthcare receiving almost no funds by comparison. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 30%. Private enterprise is illegal, but for those in the know there is a slick and highly efficient black market in Basket Weaving.
It is illegal to make racist remarks in public, every product goes through extensive safety-testing by the government, strict term limits have been applied to all elected offices, and citizens are regularly arrested in queues for 'loitering'. Crime is a problem. Fistenberg's national animal is the stone lion, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the fist.
