The Rogue Nation of Fly-Swatting Monkies is a peaceful, progressive nation, located in Middle Earth Park. Its turbulent internal history is one of uniterrupted civil war and general unrest until the ascent of Chest Pounder to the office of Number One Ape.
History
Early History
The area that would become the Rogue Nation of Fly-Swatting Monkies was originally located in South Central Africa. Groups of nomadic primates of all kinds settled in the area because of its abundant banana trees and natural beer springs. The area's inhabitants seperated themselves based upon their species, and it is believed that as many as 80 autonomous tribes were in existance at one point. A central council, with a representative from each tribe, met occasionally, but these meetings were largely useless and ceremonial. The council did not have any power over the tribes, and the reason for its existence is, therefore, a subjeect of great speculation. What is known, however, is that one meeting every year was different. On the 31st day of the fourth month, the tribes would compete in the annual banana eating contest. The winner became the new Emperor for the remainder of the year. However, the title of Emperor did not carry any special powers; it merely entitled the bearer to a fashionable sash.
Tensions Rise
As the area's population increased and the tribes grew more isolated from one another, distrust between the tribes grew. Council meetings regularly degenerated into angry name-calling and fecal matter throwing. The annual banana eating contest became a matter of extreme tribal pride, and occasionally, slight "irregularities" crept into the proceedings, the most notable being the poisened bananas of the 271st Gorging Match. As the contests became less and less friendly, tensions within tribes rose, and the competition to represent the tribe at the Match grew ever more fiercesome. Young primates often wasted their youth training for the chance to attend a competition.
