History

The nation of Forosia has had a long and, some would say, brutal past. It was just another province in the Roman Empire until its collapse in about 1000 A.D. During the Middle Ages, it was originally a small feifdom, untill it was united in 1213 A.D. by King Orthos the Barbaric, ruler of a small town in southern Forosia. Orthos massed a decent-sized army, and swept north, conquering 3 towns in the following year. By 1243 A.D., Orthos had brought most of Forosia under his control.

Then, in 1374 A.D, the Orthos dynasty was overthrown by a loose colation of various towns. Then, throught the Renaissance, Forosia was ruled by a Republic, with the senate elected every 12 years. The Kadar Republic, as it was known (due to the surname of the man who proposed the pidea for the Republic), ruled Forosia fairly, and justly, until around 1864 A.D., when a man named Vadim Torkazky seized controll of the country with a revolution, placing himself as a "president-for-life".

The oppressive dictatorship Forosia had become continued without real change untill 1938, when Nazi Germany annexed Forosia. By this time, the current ruler, Otto Windlemeir VII, had embraced the ideas of Nazism even before Hitler rose to power. The Nazis allowed Forosia to continue as it had for many years, just as a new province of the Thrid Reich. The only real difference was that the Holocaust did not impact Forosia as much, as there were never very many Jews or anyone such as that to begin with, and most had left the country before the Nazi annexation. Aside from that, Forosia had only one concentration camp. After it was liberated by the Allies in 1945, Forosia was taken over by Russia for only 3 years, and, after a 17-year Civil War, Andrew Kruschev seized power.

Kruschev ruled Forosia with a iron fist, using Nazi-esque tactics to end any opposition before it progressed very far, using secret-police and other organizations. Then, in 1990, the Revolution began.

The Revolution

The Revolution began simply enough: with a cucumber. A policeman, deciding to harass a grocer in Kruschevburg, the capital at that time, walked into the grocery, picked up a cucumber, and began to eat it. When reminded by the grocer that he had to pay for the vegatable, the officer replied the four-letter sentence that would spark the Revolution: "Sod off, will you?"

The grocer, now enraged, reminded him again to pay for the cucumber, the police officer began to beat him. Not being able to take it anymore, the grocer grabbed the officer's truncheon as it came down for another whack, and then began to savagely beat the officer. The struggle eruppted onto the street, where the grocer was then beaten and then shot to death by other police officers.

Later, the cucumber-theiving policeman was given an award for his bravery against, "a psychopathic dissident." Within weeks, citizens who belived this incident was the last straw organized various resistance groups, which, over a period of months, attempted to destabilized the government in any way they could.

Then, a young lawyer from Kruschevburg, Adrian Smith, brought the various resistances into a single, organized group: The People's Revolution Army (PRA). Within the next two years, the PRA liberated the majority of Forosia, working their way towards Kruschevburg. Then, on July 8th, 1992, the final operation of the Forosian Revolution: Operation OVERTHROW, better known as the Siege of Kruschevbug.

By this point, the PRA was thousands-strong, with not only volunteers, but police officers, secret-police officers, soldiers, even goverment officials. In fact, the second-in-command of the Forosian Information Force (FIF), was in the PRA. For three months, the armies of the PRA laid siege to the captital, finally surrounding the government district of the city.

Then, on October 30th, 1992, which, by an odd coincidence, was Adrian Smith's birthday, the final push began. 5 squads of PRA troops moved into the area surrounding the Presidential Palace, head of the government and home of Forosia's leaders for the past 300 years. Adrian Smith himself led the charge, and, eventually, he and his fellow freedom fighters made it to the Executive Office, where Kruschev and his cabinent had taken refuge.

The soldiers then captured the government leaders, handcuffed them, and broadcast a message to not only Forosia, but the entire world. Smith then gave his notification to the entire world, declaring that Forosia was now a free and independent nation, and that they would no longer tolerate being "bullied by tyrants, bueraucrats, and liars." He then went down the line of government officials, gave their names, what they were charged with, and their sentence. As follows:

Andrew Kruschev-president of Forosia, charged with crimes against humanity, theft, murder, money-laundering, and speeding. Sentence: Death.

Kurt Klahn-Head of FIF, charged with murder( 92 counts), crimes against humanity. Sentence: Death.

Darren Bundell-Science Advisor, charged with crimes against humanity, murder (3 counts). Sentence: Death.

Ted Staggers-Secretary of State, charged with crimes against humanity. Sentence: Death.

Jamie Magno-Secretary of Labor, charged with crimes against humanity. Sentence: Death.

Thaddeus Risto-Head of Military, Secretary of Defense, charged with crimes against humanity. Sentence: Death.

All were promptly executed on the spot by Smith as he proclaimed their sentence, each by a round to the head by an AK-74.
