The Armed Republic of Geraq is known for its heavy handed rule over millions of citizens. Freedoms are unheard of and all business is government controlled.
Military
Geraq has a very fine tradition of military service with all males undertaking compulsory military service from the age of 16. Geraq boasts of its great military strength of well over 2 million troops however, the united nations estimates the Geraqi military strength infact, to be as little as 35,000 troops.
Geraq posesses 5 armoured divisions (2 heavy and 3 light) with the Leopard 2 tank being the main armoured vehicle apart from the GerLAVS (light armoured vehicles) and the old M113A LAV.
The battle hardened Geraqi soldiers have seen action in all corners of the globe due to the government's view that every country wants to be liberated (even from themselves).
Military Campaign
Geraq has no recorded military successes but has suffered a number of great military defeats. The worst recorded defeat was in Australia where a covert group of soldiers attempted to drive from Cape York to Canberra to take over the government. Problems arose however when the Geraqi's unfamiliar with the great distances in Australia, ran out of fuel and provisions by the second day and were forced to seek assistance from the Australian Authorities who promtly arrested them. According to foreign minister Vladamir Umorkof "this has dealt a great bolw to Geraqi Pride as well as to the military which has lost a quarter of it's armoured vehicles". (only 5 vehicles were involved in the Australian Invasion).
