The Commonwealth of Gervase was founded in 2004 on the principles of democracy, secularism, equality, and liberty. It has a written constitution and three distinct branches of government, including a president elected for five-year terms who is both head of government and of state, a bicameral legislature, and an independent judiciary. The nation is composed of eleven states and one capital district.
