The Kingdom of Glasbyd - a direct monarchy, is located on the planet of Glasbyd.

Glasbyd does not have a founding date, but it is widely held that it was founded in 0AM (Anno Mundi, the Year of the World), thus that is how the year system of Glasbyd is based.

Glasbyd is a post-modern tech country.

History

Royal Treachery

In 921AM, Gavin II, King of Glasbyd, died. He left the oldest of his twin sons, James, as the heir to the throne. When the boys were young, their father had promised James and Kal'or that they would rule side-by-side when he had passed on. But Gavin, seeing the wicked in his younger son, thought it better to leave the crown only to James.

Kal'or, angered by his father's decision, made an attempt to assassinate his newly coronated brother. When the attempt failed, Kal'or left to join the Aegdi, a people whose only thought was to conquer.

Invasion by the Aegdi

The Aegdi invaded Glasbyd in 986AM, when King James I was in his sixty-fifth year of reign. Under the leadership of Kal'or, who had become their King, and took the surname Aegdi, they sieged the current capital at Norindium.

For three long years the Aegdi fought and plagued the people of Glasbyd under the instructions of Kal'or Aegdi. Finally, in 989AM, King James I sent forth such a mighty force against the Aegdi that they were almost diminished from the world. Kal'or Aegdi, the treacherous brother of the King, died in the battle, as did many others, including King James I himself.

This caused James's son, Toricus, to take the throne as King as soon as possible, so that another invasion by the Aegdi could not conquer the Kingdom. Toricus was coronated immediately, but they need not have worried, for the Aegdi were so diminished that they left and were never seen or heard from again.
