History

Founding and Setup of the Republic

Greater Antarctica was founded by Industrial London and Erdene Tezh in May 2006. It was created as a democratic region, deliberatly deleting the founder- Antarctic Founder. This was realised to be a grave mistake leter in the regions history. Under the political system, elections were held and the winner became delegate. The delegate remained in power for 30 days, then another election was held. The winned of the first Election was Industrial London, who ruled for 30 days.

A region Established

During this term he forged alliances with the New Britannian Empire, Antartica and entered Greater Antarctica into the Polar Union. After 30 days, Industrial London was re-elected into office for another term. But under the Constitution, a delegate can only run for 2 sucessive terms, so after 60 days, Industrial London stepped down and Socialisms (Erdene Tezh) won the following elections. This election was stalled however when the region Germany invaded and held power for almost a week. They were then beaten off by fierce resistance, and the elections were held. During Socialisms term in power the region stagnated, much to Industrial London's annoyance. No new alliances were forged and the region stayed pretty much the same size.

The Golden Age

After Socialisms poor term, Industrial London was re-elected and began to repair the damaged wrought by Socialisms. He forged new alliances with Antarctica, Prussia and Communist. The region grew and the military strengthened also. This is widly accepted as Greater Antarctica's golden era. But then, disaster struck, DEN a militant invasion region invaded and held Greater Antarctica for almost two weeks. This was a hostlie takeover and many of the natives were ejected and never returned.

1st Changing of the Constitution

Eventually help from the Swiss Army and the ADN Industrial London was put back in power and vowed never for Greater Antarctica to be invaded again. He changed the constitution, transforming Greater Antarctica from a democracy to a communesque style 'democracy' Industrial London, under the leadership of Direktor Vercingtorix I and then later his son Direktor Piotr Vercingtorix II declared itself Direktor of Greater Antarctica and installed the Iron Curtain - A password that was 50983-GA-09879. This was the second period of great stagnation, and Greater Antarctica didnt develop. But the Commonwealth was founded, and Lesser Antarctica was created as a sattelite region of Greater Antarctica. Lesser Antarctica prospered and overall, the GA Commenwealth grew. Then Greater Antarctica engaged in war with The Revolution and after bitter fighting the Revolution came out on top, and Greater Antarctica was smashed. Then the region entered into a period of recession, growing gradually smaller, untill the Direktor, Piotr Vercingtorix II, decided to lift the Iron Curtain and change the constitution yet again.

2nd Changing of the Constitution

GA transformed an Empire, with LA as its colony. Isaac the Great was proclaimed Emperor and once again GA began to grow.

After a breif period of opulence, Greater Antarctica again began to decline, with the more democratic faction spillitng off to found Democratic Greater Antarctica (Which was subsequently crushed by GA and her Allies). Hoping to save his region Industrial London entered GA into the New Britannian Monarchic Union, but this didnt help. Isaac the Great died and was succed by Ivan V, his son. Unfortuntly GA declined more and more untill the final chapter in this region history happened. GA was again invaded by DEN, and the Emperor was overthrown for good. No help was recieved from GA's allies and Industrial London resigned as Emperor and moved his puppet nation, Captain Hudson, to the New Britannian Empire, where CH has become an active member.

And so the history goes on....
