Background
The People's Planet of Hawkanagous on Mars is a fully autonomous state dominating the planet of Mars. Often called simply the People's Planet, Hawkanagous on Mars is also part of the Common Community, which is a loose confederation of socialist communty states founded by The Community of Hawkanagous.
History
The People's Planet of Hawkanagous on Mars was founded as The Colony of Hawkanagous on Mars. The colony was founded by strong socialist workers who desired the challenges met by the early pioneers of The Community. They picked a harsh environment to test their commitment to communal living and to build a beautiful environment for the people to enjoy. When the population was nearing one billion people, the strain upon the departments of the Community of Hawkanagous became too great, often dual mirror departments were created to handle the growing strain, but this became an inefficient waste. The people of Mars decided that following the lead of other Browntopian colonies they would establish themselves as an independent state.
The Community of Hawkanagous launched the Interstellar People's Luxury Ship as the venue aboard which independence talks would take place and the celebration of a new Community state would take place. The IPLS voyaged to Mars with diplomats and representatives from all major Browntopain governments as well as social architects from both The Community and the workers of Mars. A constitution was written and presented, but an infamous solar storm broke the communication to Earth, and the constitution was never formally introduced to the people of Browntopia (except aboard the IPLS). The constitution stipulated a new Browntopian state would be born: The People's Planet of Hawkanagous on Mars.
The name reflects the worker's common struggle and the lack of tyrannical private property enjoyed by all citizens of the People's Planet.
The People's Planet subsequently became a part of the Common Community retaining links to The Community of Hawkanagous and established links with another former colony, Hawkanagous on Luna.
