In Hogsweat a season is a whole year, the seasonal loop ending at the end of a leap year, called Hogsweatian New Year. Christmas is celebrated, but new year is not, except on the dawn of a standard "new year", which as said, is called Hogsweatian New Year. In such cases, a Season in Hogsweat is called a Year, not a Season. For example: The Year 0050, Aoeubf. = The year 0050, Season: Spring. A full year is all four Seasons put together. Confusing eh? I'll put it simply. Every 365 days [ days are done normally] there is a Hogsweatian Season. Every 1460 days, or Four Real Years There is a Hogsweatian Year.
The Geography of Hogsweat could be described as Tropical Siberian. Its rainforests resemble those of Vietnam, while in the winter the massive plains and tundras turn frosty while the rainforests remain cool and warm. The Hogsweatian People have adapted to their raging temperature.
Summer|The Season of the Snake|Aynnwe
The tundras become muddy, wet, and boggy, while the rainforests thrive and the heat becomes nearly unbearable. At this time temperatures rage from around 20 oc to 35 oc. Farmers begin planting their potato and rice crops.
Spring|The Season of the Rat|Aoeubf
The tundras become stable and grassland develops. The rainforests still thrive and are hot but the other land areas have cooled down. Potatoes and Rice harvested in great amounts. Importing begins for autumn and summer.
Autumn|The Season of the Hare|Lyrynb
Autumn is the worst and most feared season of all. In Autumn the tundras and plains begin to frost over and the rainforest becomes unbearably hot. Food has to be imported. In this way, for at least a year Hogsweat relies on foreign imports.
Winter|The Season of the Bear|Qubrwe|
In Winter, the Rainforest cools slightly but the tundra's and plains become frozen, at occasional temperatures of -23 oc.
