History

The area of Hollnersville was first explored by Dutch explorer Hendrik van Schellinkhout in the late 1600s. The first known settlement is in the downtown of Hollnersville. The land soon went for sale, and was purchaced by various families from across western Europe. The most notable family was the Hollners. One of the Hollners reportedly purchaced the land at the mouth of the river, and set up farms there. The area became known as Hollnersville. The area grew, and more people moved into Hollner's little village, until it began to become a small city.

In 1753, the area was taken over by Great Britain. The area proceded under Brittish rule until 1803, when the citizens revolted. The Republic of Kedalfax helped with the revolution, and at the end, the land was given to them by Britain. The people of the area had wanted their own nation, but decided that Kedalfaxian rule was better for them.
