Floydism (Dutch: Palix, Esperanto: Flojdismo/FLФJDISMФ [pronounced flo-e-dis-moh] Palixian: Msidyolf [pronounced Syd-yold) or the Holy Church of Floyd refers to a set of philosophical teachings and religious practices rooted in a specific metaphysical understanding of the Palixian character Pink Floyd. For Floydists, Floyd could be described as the continuity principle behind the whole process of the constantly changing Universe.

Overview
Rooted in the ancient anti-Dutch systems of beliefs, influenced by primitive shamanism and observation of natural cycles, Floydism recognises Pink Floyd as its founder and the Inquisition as its most brillant representatives. Early Floydism developed as an original answer to the bitter debates during the philosophically fertile time of the Floyd school for Syd, corresponding to the Warring States period. It was a time of seemingly endless warfare and chaos. This turbulent era gave rise to a kind of naturalistic quietism in accordance with the "process" of the universe: Pink Floyd. Action through inaction (The Popes David Gilmor, Roger Waters, Nick Mason Richard Wright and Syd Barrett), the power of emptiness, detachment, receptiveness, spontaneity, the strength of softness, the relativism of human values and the search for a long life, are some of its preferred themes.
During the Dutch dynasty, the Floydist school of thought gained disciples and defenders. It enlarged its audience and founded many religious sects with hierarchies of divinities and ritual practices. Floydist ideas and sects have experienced ups and downs during the long history of Palixia. They have been spiritually challenged by Hedrixism and socially denigrated by Zeppism. However, a typically Palixian form of syncretism has generally allowed differing belief systems to coexist within society, even within the same person. Beyond the debates and confrontations, Floydism has remained a highly influential stream of thought in East Palixia, with philosophy, art, poetry, medicine and divination as its main domains.
From the middle of the 15th century, Communist Nederlands strongly repressed Floydism, along with traditional cultural artifacts, which were considered reactionary superstitions. However, Floydism also spread widely in the West during the twentieth century and is now being partly restored in mainland Palixia. Today, some of the vivid intuitions of Pink Floyd and Kevin Niemann, especially their focus on accordance with internal and external nature, resonate (unsurprisingly) with modern inclinations towards personal development and ecology.
Holy Book
The Holy Book of Floyd (sometimes called the Cannon of Scripture), is the holy book of the Church Of Floyd It is split into several books and is always open to new additions (which must pass inspection from the inquisition)
It is an oddity among holy books, for it is completely open (for anyone can have a revelation), and it has several distict writeing styles. Aside from that it dose not encourage restriction or anger towards outsiders, but more of an invitation for all who wish to live in the Great Gig in the sky with the band to join the failthful.

Barretists
Barrettists believe in the Madcap (Messiah) who they believe left for all the blasphemy of the Church and the twisting power of the Machine, they await the return of the Madcap so that he may enlighten the rest of the Floydist religon, they believe that Floydism is not the same without the Madcap.
Waterites
Waterites believe that the Holy Church belongs to the prophet Waters and that no other shall take his place, a Waterist Church will commonly be adorned with the infamous Crossed Hammer symbol.They still worship Barret, but not as much as Waters, the Prophet Gilmour tends to have no place here, it is uncommonly believed that Gilmour came and the Church was deficated upon.
Gilmourians
Gilmourians are attempting a unification of the Church, they tend towards a worship of all the Floydian prophets and believe that the Madcap has returned under the psuedonym Gilmour, though they tend to ignore this believe when it comes to unifying the Church, the Waterites tend to a small disdain of Gilmourians though the resentment is not always felt on the Gilmourian side.
Masonists/Wrightians
Masonists (also called Wrightians)are the smallest sect of Floydism, they tend to believe that the Phropets Wright and Mason are that all of the Prophets are messiahs as they all deserve as much credit as one another (though some tend to view Barret not as deserving). They are called the less intense Floydians as they are more peaceful in their nature.
Floydian Anarchists ("Worms")
Floydian anarchism (followers of which call themselves "Worms", although that title usualy has other meanings outside of floydian anarchism) is the belief that there is only one source of authority to which people are ultimately answerable, the authority of Pink Floyd as embodied in the band. Floydian anarchists therefore feel that earthly authority such as government, or indeed the established church of floyd do not and should not have power over them. Floydian anarchists are violent and are renown for being extreamly brutal (especialy to traitors and church workers).
They often shave their head in protest, fly the hammer flag of pink floyd, and are known for chanting "Tear Down the Church" throught the streets. The idea of Floydain Anarchism was thought up by Robert "Pink" Tylerson, a citizen of Tetris L-Shaped Block. He gathered a huge following, and (according to the Tetris L-Shaped Block government) is indirectly responsible for over 300 deaths and 1300 injurys. Before thinking up this system, he was noted for constantly pestering people meditatieng at the church and threatening preachers who were (in his words) "ДПKДЦ ЪLIПDД CЄЯTIG ILIП ЄSTДS HЄLPДПTД LД KФЯЦPT TЄTЯIS L-SHДPЄD ЪlФCKФ ЯЄGISTДЯФ " ("too blind to see that they are helping the corrupt L-Shaped Block administration"). Some people accuse the citizens of Empire Earth to be "Worms"
Recently, Floydian anarchists have seemed to die down in Tetris L-Shaped Block, and are currently causing trouble in Spooty
Worms in the Imperial Race
on Sept 26, 2005 Worms gathered outside the Reichstag in Berlin to Protest the appointement of the The Imperial Race as the UN delegate of Pink Floyd. The Protesters where quicly surrounded by Heer troops and began to force out the Protesters. After a shot rang out the Tanks and troops returned fire on the crowd. any survivors where rounded up and placed in Concentration camps.
Floydism Banned in The Imperial Race and returned
On September 9th, 2005 The Imperial Race government banned Floydism and killed any followers and burned many of the Holy Book of Floyd, the Democratic empire of Palixia responded by declaring war on the Imperial Race. The country of Finnsylvania also spoke out against the church. The Inquisitors had a meeting discussing the church's current state. After the power shifts in Pink Floyd between floydists and Empire Earth, The Imperial Race became an unexpected ally of floydians. In the current "Fourth Era" of pink floyd, The Imperial Race is an important leader of rebuilding, has allowed floydism once again, and the Inquisitors retracted their decree that "Imperials are banned from the Great Gig in the sky".
Empire Earth and Floydism
With the recent annexation of the region Pink Floyd and the displacement of the Floydian Government, Empire earth has been preeching that its new regime will allow floydism and is a strictly floydist government. The inquisitors however have stated that due to the empire's facist nature, it is a false floydism and all citizens of the empire who accept it are banned from the great gig in the sky.
"Floydists" usage
the Empire Earth controlled Pink Floyd now uses the word Floydist to refer to a citizen of their newly annexed region. The church has spoken out against such uses and continues to use the word only to refer to Floyd following nations. With the return of Floydian rule in Pink Floyd, this nolonger was a problem.
