Nationstates Description
The Empire of Hrydonia is a very large, devout nation, renowned for its compulsory military service. Its compassionate, cynical population of 163 million are kept under strict control by the oppressive government, which measures its success by the nation's GDP and refers to individual citizens as "human resources." The medium-sized, corrupt, moralistic government juggles the competing demands of Defence, Religion & Spirituality, and Law & Order. The average income tax rate is 20%, but much higher for the wealthy. A healthy private sector is led by the Pizza Delivery industry, followed by Information Technology and Soda Sales. Children have taken to using semaphore in light of the recent mobile phone ban, strict term limits have been applied to all elected offices, history classes are mandatory for students, and all news sources are under strict government control. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to a well-funded police force. Hrydonia's national animal is the hyperactive teenager, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests.
