Founder of the Rastaban line of Queens. Iliana of Rastaban was a great military woman of her day. For in Rastaban men and women shared (and continued to share) equal status. She was from a middle class family from the House of Rastaban. Her real name was Iliana Brimo. Her family was quite large, five brothers and three sisters, not including Iliana. At an early age she, two sisters and one brother entered the military of the Tribal Lands of Wyrm, as Rastaban was called before its name change. Iliana quickly rose through the ranks, both in fighting & magic skills.
When the war of the Houses broke out she was the first to lead troops into battle. They sang prasies to her. It was also at this time that Iliana took a husband. He was Samiel Siblon, also of the House of Rastaban. By the time the Battle of Tres they had two children, a daughter named Elise and a son named Vinston.
The Battle of Tres is the bloodiest battle fought in all of Rastaban history. Many died from Azhdeha, Tiamat, and Rastaban Houses. Those fighting from at the battle from the Azhdeha house were greatly out numbered by Tiamat and Rastaban. Iliana had come to face to face with Lung’wa of Azhdeha, who had started the civil war. Unlike the others that had faced this giant of a man, the small Iliana held her ground. He managed to strike her to the ground, stole her horse and thought he was safe as he rode away. He wasn’t. Iliana was exceptionally skilled at a weapon called an atlatl. With it she stuck Lung’wa through the neck from a great distance away from him.
The battlefield seemed to grow silent as they watched him fall. Cheers could be heard from all around. Iliana was praised as a great hero. The Council of House Elders was reorganized and replaced women as the Council members. It was decided that such was a system was not working. So the women decided to elect one person to rule. A male rule was out of the question. A woman was to be chosen, and who better than the woman that killed Lung’wa? Iliana became the first queen of the Tribal Land of Wyrm, later called the Queendom of Rastaban, named after the house from which Iliana was from. The House Heads would still be around, but work in a very different function in latter-days.
She also became the new Head of the House of Rastaban. Her reign was filled with rebuilding and working with the Guardians. She established schools for children to be taught, and discussed with the other Heads of the Houses what to do. Land was devided up and assigned each of the six houses. Also, she created the first training acadamies for dragon riding. The creatures were abuntant and large enough for people to ride them. This academy still exsists, its called The Flight School of Dragons and at time may be called Dragon Flight School.
Iliana’s reign was overall progressive. She outlived her daughter and granddaughter, who through the new law would have been her heirs. Thanfully Princess Elise-Anne (her eldest grandaughter from Elise) had a daughter of her own, Princess Elspeth, who became the next Queen of Rastaban.
