Elspeth I of Rastaban was very different from her great-grandmother, Iliana of Rastaban. Her mother was Princess Elise-Anne, and her father Prince Klenson of the House of Tiamat. Elise-Anne was the eldest daughter of Princess Elise, who was the eldest daughter of Queen Iliana. Where her great-grandmother was a fierce warrior, and as was her mother and grandmother, Elise had decided to take a more spiritual path. She studied with Guardians and served as a priestess of Ho'huang and Kinahau. It was rumored that her magic skills even surpassed that of her great-grandmother Iliana. No records survive as to account of this, but it has become Rastabite legend.

Queen Iliana lived a very long life.

Elise married Aldar Lister, who was kind and considerate, very devout to his religion. Elise and Aldar had several children, their eldest daughter being Elise-Anne. Klenson and Elise-Anne had four children, but Elspeth was the only one to survive to childhood.

Elspeth married a man by the name of Lord Andros Marwin of a now non-exsistant nation. The marriage was good at first, and when she became queen, he was made king (as was stated in their nuptial). He was far from being a king though. He became lecherous after obtaining his kingship; as a result Elspeth stripped everything but his title from him.

Despite this, Elspeth bore one child, a daughter from Andros, Ev’lyn.
