The Old Republic
ITD was founded as a republic, the republic was the creation of 8 of the known 9 tribes which inhabited the islands now encompassing ITD. The 9th tribe was warrior like and refused to submit to the wills of a democracy; they were also much larger than any other tribe. The republic existed for 3 presidential terms, until civil war broke out in the islands co-inhabited by 9th tribe members and other tribes. This civil war was very brief, yet led to the total destruction and breakdown of the republic.
