The Republic of JRV was formed when the former states of Joy, Riches and Victory joined in union. Located in the Golden Hills region, JRV is a predominately libertarian country, which preaches tolerance in society and actively supports big business.
Today the country has a large and rapidly growing economy, with a population of over 1 billion people. A strong and well-funded military rarely engages in any action apart from peacekeeping.

Governance of the Republic
A Federal Parliament is largely in control of the country, taking care of the day to day affairs but a higher body is charged with the over-all running of JRV. Consisting of supreme ministers and headed by a chancellor, the National Chancellery is elected and appointed by parliament.

Geography
General
The Republic is a large landmass with a mostly temperate climate. The eastern parts of JRV consist of much mountainous terrain, met by a great ocean. Central and western JRV are considered some of the most highly developed regions in the world, while southern JRV is renowned for its majestic lakes and beautiful countryside. Meanwhile JRV’s northern parts are somewhat drier than the rest, with some desert-like terrain present.
Natural Resources

Defending the Republic
The JRVian military is comprised of four branches, the Republican Army (RA), the Republican Navy (RN), the Republican Airforce (RAF) and the Special Forces. With currently 19 percent of government funding is invested into defence annually, the military JRV is considered well resourced and kept state of the art. In recent years Federal Government has made it compulsory for all able-bodied high school graduates to attend basic army training for one year, before they engage themselves in work or tertiary education.
Army

The Republican Navy presently operates a number of small to moderate sized fleets. Ships used include aircraft carriers, frigates and various other types. As part of its close relationship with the Democratic Colonies, forces are routinely deployed amongst these islands and to other allied nations. It's primary base is located on JRV's Eastern Coast at Patricia Harbor, a number of other establishments are situated to the north. The navy is largely engaged in coastal patrol.
Airforce
The Republican Airforce is large and operates a range of different aircraft, with roles ranging from fighters to reconnaissance. An elite paratroop brigade is currently operated in conjunction with the Special Forces as part of Joint Taskforce One.

Joy day - December 1st
In honour of the former State of Joy, ungrateful and spoiled children eagerly receive presents from family and friends. Wine cellars across the land are raided; prisoners for petty crimes are released. Weirdoes in purple dinosaur suits parade through the streets singing and scaring toddlers.
Riches day - December 2nd
Riches day was created in honor of the former State of Riches. On this day each year the more wealthy JRV citizens are expected to ride in floats through the cities towns, showering the less fortunate with dollar bills and shiny coins. Police turn a blind eye to petty criminals and hundreds of businesses go bankrupt each year.
Victory day - December 3rd
The day after riches day is victory day, a day designed to celebrate the former State of Victory in 12 hours of non-stop and action packed military exercises. Each year a structure that no one likes is selected by vote and blown up on national TV -- in 2003 the Federal Parliament building selected by overwhelming popular demand (no politicians were harmed).
Clean up and Unity day - December 4th
Everyone unites, is given a shovel and made to clean up after the hectic 3 days of celebrations. Symbolizes unity between three former states.
