The Dictatorship of Kalrod is a small, environmentally stunning nation, remarkable for its complete absence of social welfare. Its hard-nosed, cynical population of 14 million are kept under strict control by the oppressive government, which measures its success by the nation's GDP and refers to individual citizens as "human resources."
The large, corrupt government devotes most of its attentions to Law & Order, with areas such as Social Welfare and Education receiving almost no funds by comparison. The average income tax rate is 26%, but much higher for the wealthy. A small private sector is dominated by the Trout Farming industry.
A dictator has seized power and outlawed elections, military spending recently hit a new high, a nation-wide cull of Cheetahs is in effect, and college students make ends meet by selling their kidneys. Crime is moderate. Kalrod's national animal is the Cheetah, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the Kalrese Pound.
