Military spending is on the increase, the country has been 'going shopping' by annexing nearby nations for their resources, torture is commonly used to extract information from suspected criminals, and the nation has an international reputation for compassion. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Kloister's national animal is the Badger, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the Plague.
In recent times there has been a ground swell of opinion that the Badgers should create their own political party and run in opposition to the existing government...The Badgers are tight lipped about such thoughts...
Economy
With an average income tax rate of 100% it is difficult to understand just how the economy is so strong, but it is and remains to this day to be beyond everyone's grasp of economic rules...The private sector is almost wholly made up of enterprising fourteen-year-old boys selling lemonade on the pavement, although the government is looking at stamping this out...The Badgers have recently cut a swathe through the government red tape and with numerous expanding ventures coming to prominence it won't be long before the economic landscape is altered...
Civil Rights
The civil rights movement never really got much attention in the Empire...The subjects were either too ignorant, scared stiff or being picked off by government sharp-shooters for thinking about protesting...On the whole the civilians don't seem to mind that much...As long as they get their fix of Badger Racing, there is always plent of JAM on the table and foreign relations with the Evil Penguins are kept to an absolute minimum they don't complain...

Past
Kloister, the Badger pre-occupied, player stumbled into the Nation States universe back in January 2004 and was assigned to the South Pacific feeder Region...And he never left...
Kloister's introduction to the unsuspecting people of the South Pacific went without a hitch and was welcomed with open arms...Over the next 6 months they developed their in-game persona, introduced the Badgers in the opening attempts for world Badger domination and made lots of nice new friends: Fudgetopia, Caer Rialis, DWC, J Delight, Tsrill amongst many others...
