Kroando, formerly known as the Provinces of Muscovy is a massive nation, nearly two and a half times the size of modern Russia. The nation underwent a massive change around 1927, when the reigning 'Board of Directors', the rulers, in effect, the dictators of the nation were overthrown during a massive revolution by Supreme Military Commander Javier V. Kroando. The details of his revolution are vast, and must be thuroughly understood if one is to currently grasp the situation in the nation, but a brief overview is possible. Muscovy was a nation in poverty, under invasion by Eastern Mongol Hordes which threatened to conquer the nation. The very temperatures were deathly low.
Religion
Ever since the death of Kroando in 1939, the nation has left Christianity, and taken their former leader as an actual God. The Religion is focused around the belief that someday Kroando will return, melt the snows, destroy poverty and crush the enemies of the people. This occured largely as a result of the massive failure of Christianity in Kroando. The Christian Faith was horribly manipulated by the rulers of Moscow, and under it's rule, the nation floundered. Starvation, plague, illness... the people simply did not see the 'grand benefit' of being a Christian Nation.
The Priests of Kroando offered something else. They had a savior, a plausible, visible savior that had actually physically saved the nation during the Mongol Invasions. The nation prospered under his rule (albeit a short one), blizzards vanished, crops actually grew in the Russian Tundra, a population boom mirrored an economic boom... the man was simply above the rest.
Now the Church of Kroando worships his idol on a weekly basis, waiting, praying for his return. According to scripture, he will return from the place he dissapeared. The Vast Waste to the East.
