Formation and Establishment
The Empire of Kryosis was established in the late spring of 2006, the exact date in unknown because the First Emperor - Benni I - had owned the nation for at least a week before he had even realised that the cheque had cleared. In addition to this, it was not always an Empire.
Originally, Kryosis was a duchy. Benni I, real name Benni Watson, had intended to occupy the tiny nation and make it a sort of family home. However, there was some minor conflict with the neighbouring islands, and it led to a series of skirmishes between the small armed guard Watson had hired for security purposes and the police forces of the neighbouring islands. Unsuprisingly, Watson's thuggish employees were victorious, and the ambitious entrepreneur decided to build on what he already had.
The Blitz
Some three weeks after the defeat of LaBoom's police force (who had attempted to apprehend a Kryosis inhabitant for a minor charge) Watson ordered his men to invade the smallest of the neighbouring isles, LaBlim. LaBlim was captured easily, and when greeted with the apparent apathy of the residents, Watson saw no reason to stop.
The blitz continued until all twenty four islands in the system were under Kryosis control. With the extra funding he could muster from his expanded territory, Watson was able to employ enough personnel to keep all twenty four islands of what he now renamed The Empire of Kryosis under control.
Building Bridges
After all the islands were under his control, Watson decided to make trade more efficient by commissioning the building of suspension bridges to link the islands together. Moving his private mansion to the centre island, Kriminis, Watson declared the island system all Kryosis territory, and placed the entire populous under Imperial Rule. There was little to no resistance, as Watson's endeavours were positives for the inhabitants, and he had made very little increase to taxes to pay for the improvements.
The Revolution
The central - and largest - island became the equivalent of Kryosis' motherboard and underwent a major overhaul. A technological revolution took place, and Kryosis was transformed. The Ruler, Benni Watson, had now renamed himself Emperor Benni I, The Benevolent. Slowly, but surely, his grasp on the Empire tightened. The economy strengthened, and in his paranoia, the military power of the Empire grew enormously. The peaceful island system had transformed into a bustling exotic metropolis, and was ruled with an iron fist by a once benevolent, now oppressive dictator.
