Lapalamian Economic System

The economy in Lapalam is very simple, the first thing to know about it is: in Lapalam there is no money.
The LIM (Lapalamian international money) is just the currency Lapalam uses for foreign transactions. Within the territory, people uses just a card (or more) to store credits. When a Lapalamian leaves the country he/she has to withdraw a certain amount of LIM (or the specific currency in the specific country) in order to spend them in foreign countries.
The first thing strangers point out when entering the country is "what about hackers cracking cards?", the answer is always the same "well, it's their job!". In facts hackers are payed for finding bugs or for hacking systems like the LBS (Lapalam banking system). They are payed for finding bugs and solve them, for hacking systems and programming a patch or an entire new system.
Hackers' working level is 2 (from scratch), it can increase according to their achievements. Each nasty carck or a not properely honest bug use is severely treated.
Each citizen in Lapalam has his/her personal card on which are stored his/her personal data and the LBC (Lapalam Bank Code), every shop and every public service is connected to some central server (10 interconnected/mirroring systems are located around the world, continuous checks avoid a certain amount of hacking attempts), in every moment, on some watches, cellphones or other adapted electronic instruments, every citizen can check his/her credits' amount.
Every transaction (from salary to shopping) is traced and controlled, users can ask for a daily list of transaction (or a 2, 6, 10 days report or one in a month, season, year).
People in Lapalam don't feel this continuous tracing system as a lack of freedom, because most of the public services are free, no low levelled Security Guard can access the tracing log and, in facts, because nobody cares about what everyone's doing right now 'till someone points it out.
Logs are kept for 25 years, in order to trace long term frauds, they can only be seen and requested by high level Security Guard members (and not even for full use, just with reading permission), each request is traced and, in order to charge someone of fraud, the log is published firstly among other Security Guard members and, two weeks before the trial, for public vision.

What you are is what you have

In Lapalam people don't care about possession, they care about comfort. Everybody works in order to gain comforts or assure comforts to his/her children.
Having a job is almost compulsory in Lapalam, not only a right. Everybody could decide not to work, but this would reduce the benefits a person could use.
The 10 working levels cover the entire population and cannot be overtaken, this means that non workers have no level and experts who gain level 10 for more than 3 years, have duties. For non workers basic food is free, but for every other different kind of food, the person has to do something (see fast work). Basic clothes are free but limited for non workers, as much as for living
