History

The Militaristic Union of Largent was no more than a collection of warring tribes of countless species. Largent was a single planet in a tiny system right next to Sol. Soon humans settled the system and a threat was born. The humans and elves saw this threat whil dwarves, orcs, and others didn't care about it.

The humans and elves formed an alliance and the Thousand-Year-War was ended in a battle that would soon become the bloodiest day in Largentian history. Soon an Emperor was put in place and there was relative peace. For almost thirty years Largent was at peace and began obtaining allies, which included the settlers.

Soon however, an invasion was mounted under illogical pretenses. None-the-less, the Largentians prevailed even after a nuclear holocaust had begun. Millions died but in the end it only made the empire stronger.

After this point Largent became less active in the international scene until a civil war broke out over a kidnapping. Soon however the whole affair fizzled out. Once again Largent saw little action until the Ardan conflict came around. Still a small nation, Largent gave the small force it had to Yut. As the threat passed Largent began talks with Scolopendran officials so that it may continue to aid Yut if it was possible. After these talks however the government collapsed for almost sixty years.

Now the government has been re-established and is trying to rebuild its alliances.

People

Are a wide variety of people and species from all different backgrounds. Unlike many places these varieties of people and species do not get along. Many Largentian colonies and cities are divided up very specifically based soley on race. There are commonly homecides and occational riots.

The two major rivalries are between humans and extrasolars and between orcs and elves. It is these rivalries and racist situations that have turned Largent into a police state and have caused harsh laws to be enforced, which include a mandatory military service.

Church

The Largentian government strongly encourages religion. This is a long-standing tradition that has caused almost all of Largentians to be devout to one religion or another. Unlike in other places the Catholic name has not been tainted by scandals and there is little religious persecution, mainly thanks to an all powerful police force.

The government currnetly is mainly Christian and recrution is on the rise. Man elogant churches have been built and no expense was spared.

Government

High Council

The Largentian form of an Executive Branch. This branch is made up of nobles and members of powerful families. They act as direct advisors to the Emperor. In total there are 50 members at all sessions and three of them form the majority of the Emperor's High Charter, who together have absolute power within the government.

High Charter

Five men, three are members of the High Council, one is the senator of Winchia, the final is the Emperor. Together they make all formal desicions that effect all parts of the Empire.

Emperor Johnston(deceased)

Considered to be one of the brightest and most pollitically enabled men ever to have served his nation. He is approaching his elder years and after his passing his eternally young wife shall resume his place. He is witty and good company and tends to be kind harted. This characteristic, however, will vanish immediatley once his country or its people are threatened. He has little tolorence for failure.

Lady Elwing Oronrá

A beautiful and intelligent elven woman and equally politically enabled when compared to her husband. Several leaders are concerned about the time when she will take the crown. She tends to be ruthless and unforgiving. Her enemies will certainly feel her presence.

Capital

Winchia

Winchia is little more than an enormous and fortified city. All important buildings and instillations are in underground bunkers. It is in these bunkers that the Emperor and his Lady reside and are never seen by the public. They do have palaces located on other planets where their safety in ensured but they never leave Earth because of their abiltiy to rule the whole empire from a select few rooms.

Winchia does have some areas that are architectural wonders but those are above ground and are not considered part of the capital. This is the financial district and houses no government personel. However, it is still guarded by no less than 500,000 soldiers. Winchia was a city not built with comfort and elegance in mind. Rather it was built to be safe and to last, which it has.

Other Cities

Órthà

The only city in Largent to house citizens and have more military than Winchia. It is home to 1,000,000 soldiers, mainly elves, and is still an industrial power. It is totally underground and is Largent's manufacturing power. However, its main goal is to protect Winchia.

Marte Largenti

A largely civilian city, containing little if any military. It is located on Mars and it the first city Largent has ever constructed in an ocean.
