Officially The Kingdom of Llannedd, Llannedd is a very large, environmentally stunning nation, notable for its devotion to social welfare. Its compassionate, intelligent population of around 120 million are fiercely patriotic and enjoy great social equality; they tend to view other, more capitalist countries as somewhat immoral and corrupt.
Llannedd is located in the west of the Mediterranean region. It borders the Mediterranean Sea to the North, Tripoli to the west and Carthage and Troy to the East.
Government and Politics
The elected ruler of Llannedd is known at the Steward. He is responsible for the welfare and safety of the country and of its people. A Llanneddian must be thirty years of age or older to hold this office, and all Llanneddians are required by law to vote. Each Steward’s term in office lasts five years, and they may be re-elected three times beyond their initial term, for a total of twenty years in office. Their yearly salary is 1,050,000 gold pieces, the equivalent of $50,000 US dollars, and all of the Steward’s expenses while in office are paid from the country’s treasury (within reason, determined by the Treasurer’s office). The Steward resides in The House of Stewards, a castle located on the top of the highest hill in the capital of Dol Amroth. The Steward is addressed as Lord or Lady.
People
Llannedd's 70 million people have a 100% literacy rate (people over the age of 13). 80% of the population live in suburban or rural areas. Dol Amroth, the capital, is also the largest city. The most heavily populated areas are along the northern coast. Voting is mandatory, as is military service (a minimum of two years must be served).
Economy
Llannedd is an average nation in the Mediterranean with an estimated 1.25 billion Gold Piece Gross National Product. The standard of living in the Beautiful Land of Llannedd is high, thanks to government welfare programs. The nation's largest industry is book publishing. Automobile manufacturing and the exporting of retail goods are growing.
