Mactopia

This mountainous region is rich in sky. It is a haven for Despots, Dictators, Tyrants and Tossers. Each Nation is left to its own:

See no evil, Hear no Evil.

Nations

This is a relatively new region, founded by El Commandante, 'The Purple Napoleon' of Spoonmenistan. It is currently home to 5 nations:

• The Dictatorship of Spoonmenistan
• The Dictatorship of Mattalattastan
• The Kingdom of Charlie's Sweden
• The Kingdom of Skrid
• The Free Land of Shoeburg

Former Nations:

• The Kingdom of the Tiger-Leopard (Was eliminated by widespread disease and by the assasination of the royal family, is now under Kabita's control).

• The Republic of Lucky123 (Had been wiped out by nuclear waste from Mactopia War I. The area was taken over by The Allied States of Kirastor and Guahwan who have colonised it.)

• The Kingdom of Hell oo (The areas monarch began plans of global conquest, a joint attack by Forkania and Spoomenistan resulted in the fall of this country. It's king was found and executed by Forkanian forces for war crimes.

• The Rouge Nation of Kabita - Was forced by Spoonmenistan to leave the region after a major regional conflict over the election of the UN delegate.

• The United States of EDzopia - Crumbled under a corrupt government, it's people revolted and turned their land over to Forkania and Rokanzabal.

• The Allied States of Kirastor and Guahwan - Appauled by Spoonmenistan's attempts to poison it's waters and it's threats to use the mactopian doomday device, the Kirastorians left with the Kabitans in the Great Schism.

• The Free Land of Forkania - Left Mactopia during the Great Schism due to the corrupt and immoral ways of El Commandate of Spoonmenistan and the continuing threat of Mattalttastan.

• The Empire of Romanii Nova - Being firm allies with Kirastor and Guahwan, Romanii Nova departed Mactopia during the Great Schism.

• The Holy Empire of Aelfast - Tempted by Kabita's promises of hot plates and rickety rafts, Aelfast couldn't help following Kabita to Driftopia in the Great Schism.

• The Empire of Rokanzabal - Has drifted into oblivion after being ejected and banned from Mactopia, some say it will return in Driftopia's darkest hour...

Geography

The region is divided by two seas, the Mactopian Sea in the North, and the Burgleia sea in the south. The western states (Spoonmenistan, Mattalatastan and Forkania) are predominantly desert with a fertile strip of land running along the east of the nations near the sea. This is where most of the population lives out their oppresed lives. In the south, on the Burgeilia coast (Southern Forkania, Edzopia, Rokanzabal and Skrid) is the Tahliati Jungle - a vast swathe of green covering much of this region. To the north, In the Mactopian sea is the Kirastorian Archipelago (Kirastor and Guahwan) and the Rogue nation of Kabita. In the west, past the Mactopian sea are the powerhouses of Romanii Nova and Tiger Leopard, and in the far north is the Kingdom of Charlie's Sweden.

History

After a turbulent founding by El Commandante of Spoonmenistan, new nations flooded to join this 'See no Evil, Hear no Evil' region, and it's numbers soon swelled. Soon, civilizations were sprouting everywhere and there was a sudden need for knowledge about the world surrounding them. To combat this need, Tsiang Unobovitch of Kirastor and Guahwan, famous cartographer drew up a series of maps which brought clarity to the citizens of Mactopia. Across the sea, on the western continent, tensions were growing between the Social Democrats, who ruled in Hell oo and Forkania, and the dictatorships of Spoonmenistan and Mattalatastan. These tensions came to a climax when Forkania declared war on Mattalatastan and, with the support of Hell oo and Kirastor and Guahwan succeeded in destroying the military threat their neighbor possesed. It was after this war that the great wall of Mattalatastan was built to keep out invaders from the East, North or South. In Spoonmenistan, El Commandante went crazy, locked himself in his castle, killed is servants through locking them in the freezer, and painted himself purple. He still hasn't quite recovered...

The later period of Mactopian history is defined by the discovery of the southern lands around the Burgleia sea. Forkania and Mattalatastan sent scouts to explore the land south of their countries, while Kabita sent her navies to explore the seas. This new land allowed more civilizations to spring up in the form of Edzopia, Rokanzabal and Skrid. Peace reigned for many years, and trade between the south and the north made Mactopia rich. Unfortunately, such a prosperous time couldn't last, and violent cults such as the Cult of the Rabid Dog and the brotherhood of the Monkey Rat spread throughout the nations. The countries of Mactopia had trouble surpressing these revolts, and none more so than Forkania. In an attempt to rid it's colonies of the threat of the Monkey Rat, Kirastor and Guahwan invaded southern Forkania, which was under rebel control, in order to secure it's borders and return the land to the Forkanian government. In a treacherous act, or perhaps because of a misunderstanding, Forkainia assaulted the Kirastorian armies and war broke out. Mattalatastan sided with Forkania, and Hell oo with Kirastor and Guahwan, but the Forkanians won the war and took Kirastor and Guahwan's colonies. In a similar move, Mattalatastan invaded and conquered Hell oo's province of Jovgenhold.

Succession of Kabita and Allies

As Mactopia began to expand further, the UN members of the region began to see the need to elect a delegate to the UN. The process was debated upon by the nations for years until El Commandante demanded to be made the delegate and threatened Mactopia with a "doomsday device" that he would use to destroy Mactopia unless this was carried out. Thinking that the El Commandante was most likely bluffing, Kabita chose to elect Romanii Nova as the delegate. This resulted in Spoonmenistan's blackmailing of all other nations into no longer trading with Kabita until his demands were met. But, Kabita had discovered a new untouched continent in one of their naval drills years ago and had kept it a secret up until this point. The people of Kabita were forced to abandon the island they had lived on for centuries and take refuge on a small untamed island in the sea of this new continent. Meanwhile, many of Kabita's allies, tired of Spoonmenistan's steel-fisted control on the region, followed Kabita to the new promising continent.

As Kabita left, they used an experimental device to force a volcano to erupt, thus destroying the the island's resources and leaving it as a wasteland. Otherwise, the deserting countries' land was mostly taken over by their neighbors, expanding the land of Mattalattastan, Spoonmenistan and Romanii Nova greatly.
