The Kingdom of Makh Allet is a tiny, devout nation, renowned for its complete absence of social welfare. It is a total dictatorship, ruled without mercy by the First Jingh, Azkabar Kanath. After Thingamabobbers's totalitarian government collapsed, it was reabsorbed into Thingamajiggers. However, the land stayed turbulent, and the citizens rejected the Karnbeln's rule. Kanath managed to organize the many factions and establish himself as the leader of the region. To avoid potential nuclear war, the Karnbeln allowed the region to secede once more (the people did not wish to live with "the traitors of Bobbers" anyway), although Kanath decreed that it would go down in Alletian history books as a deadly battle, which ended with Kanath slaying the current Karnbeln. The current population of the country is 45 million. Its national animal is the aquatic leopard and its currency is the vuttsit.

History

The Crash of Thingamabobbers

In 672 AF, the Empire of Thingamabobbers was in pretty sorry shape. The economy had been on decline for years. The government became increasingly distant from the lives of the citizens, not due to taking a hands off approach (the government was as totalitarian as it had been from the start), but rather due to mere apathy towards the needs of the people. The government could not collect taxes as it had heavily in previous years, as the people were starving. What little money they had left their pockets before it could ever reach the records office. Worst of all, the Thingamabobban goal, the eventual reclaiming of the lush land of Thingamajiggers, was dead. Thingamajiggers was flourishing. It had its problems, especially, but it was a regional power, its people were content, and the Thinga-Xerconian Cold War was a distant memory. Meanwhile, Thingamabobbers was as described above. There was no hope of victory. Also, not only had the hope died, but so had all passion for the undertaking. Noone had an interest in fulfilling a centuries-old vendetta.

It was thus that, in 672, the Empire of Thingamabobbers finally dissolved officially. In 673, the land was re-absorbed into Thingamajiggers as a new province, named Makh Allet (Du-Hickazn for "Mountains of Struggle") after the name of the portion of the Misca Mountains that formed the border between Thingamabobbers and Thingamajiggers. Thus began a healing process, as Thingamajiggeri volunteers and government officials came to the aid of the former Thingamabobberi.

However, centuries of hatred between Thingamajiggers and Thingamabobbers could not be erased simply by a change in ownership of land. Tensions were high between old enemies, and the Alletians, while thankful, were not accustomed to charity.

Cry for Independence

By 740, the province of Makh Allet had been returned to health. A new generation of Alletians had come, growing up on tales of the former "glory" of the land of Thingamabobbers, free and independent. They knew not the horrors of dictators, nor the pain of starving, and the tales of a land of their own, ruled by a great and powerful Jingh sounded like legend. A movement began to take hold among the citizens, desiring a free Makh Allet.

In the following years, 5 militant groups, ready to wage civil war if necessary, came to strength in Makh Allet. However, they were divided, bickering amongst themselves and unable to form a force capable of weilding any power. This changed in 747, when a previously unknown man, Azkabar Kanath, united the groups and appointed himself as ruler, declaring himself to be the first Jingh of the independent country of Makh Allet.

Founding

According to the history ordered by Kanath to be taught to children, there was a bloody war for independence, with many horrible atrocities committed by the vile Thingamajiggeri. The war finally was declared over when Kanath himself slit the throat of the Karnbeln, within the Karnbeln's own bedroom, no less.

What the world's history tells us, however, is that Karnbeln Arias Nejika, in 747, decided to wash his hands of the Alletian problem. He handed the region over to the people of Makh Allet to do with it what they willed. They chose to follow Kanath, into yet another authoritarian regime, harder than the first.

The Fall of Makh Allet

In 773, Makh Allet's government collapsed due to its autocratic ruling style, lack of regard for the population, and the death of Jingh Kanath. The government was unable to survive his death. Most citizens, finally fed up with the Jingh, were not sad to see the dictatorship end, despite their nationalistic tendencies. Some, however, were less than happy the events. Most of these people were either blindly patriotic or had benefitted from the reign of Kanath due to their positions in his government.

The Day of Terror, The Kruschuchkian Invasion, The Second Xerconian Civil War

These people blamed Thingamajiggers for the collapse of their government. They claimed that, being their age-old enemy, the nation had infiltrated their government, weakening it and assassinating the Jingh with poisons. The people formed a terrorist group, Alleti Gol (Du-Hickazn for Mountain Sun). On April 2, 774, Alleti Gol attacked the city of Hydranj, Thingamajigger's capital. With amazing timing, they simulataneously set off bombs within the Assembly Chamber, the Executive Chambers, the Hall of Justice, and the city's central plaza, killing half of the Dominion Assembly, the Karnbeln and his deputy, and all but one Central Court Justice, as well as 19 civilians and 36 government employees. The government was in chaos. Noone knew who was in charge or if more attacks would occur.

It was then that Kruschuchk struck. Two days after the Day of Terror, Kruschuchk's Red Army attacked the confused and weakened government of Thingamajiggers. They easily occupied the country, which was unable to pull together its army. Kruschuchk occupied the country for 7 months before the (now in hiding) government finally was able to strike back against the invaders. Fortunately, this happened as Kruschuchk was attacked from the other side simultaneously by Thingamajiggers's unexpected allies.

Xerkunia, the small nation to the east of Kruschuchk that considered itself the remnants of Xerconia, recalled Xerconia's alliance with Thingamajiggers. This, combined with its hatred for what it considered to be a treasonous, false government, led to it attacking Kruschuchk on its home front. Due to having to spread its troops out and fight two countries at once, Kruschuchk could not hang on to Thingamajiggers, despite its superior military. It eventually was defeated by Xerkunia and the remnants of Tolmekistan (which was invaded during the war by Kruschuchk), which had reformed into the nation of Xerconia.

The Massacre of the Night of Raining Fire

Amid all of this panic, everyone forgot about Arbitenitant, a small country to the west of Thingamajiggers. Arbitenitant was a country of religious extremists from Zirconia that had fled the sub-region to create a theocracy. Arbitenitant declared with vile that "Terrorism is an affront to the gods!", and took it upon itself to punish the "wicked". Holding all of Makh Allet accountable for the actions of a few, it launched a fleet of ships towards the peninsula and deluged the country with an armada of missiles, some nuclear, on November 21, 774. The genocide, as far as anyone knows, was total, although it is believed a few Alletians in the mountains at the fringes of the country may have survived and fled to Thingamajiggers, blending in with their genetic brothers.

This was the end of the once proud people that spanned the lifetimes of Thingamajigs, Thingamabobbers, and Makh Allet. All nations mourned the atrocity, which became a national day of memorial in many countries in Thorin.

Flag

This flag was a combination of the symbols of the 5 biggest factions that Kanath united. One was symbolized by the sun rising once again over the mountains of Makh Allet, and is represented on the flag by the pyramid rising up into the circle. Another was symbolized by an eye, and the eye was put on the flag with the sun being the pupil. A third faction was represented by lighting, and so the rays of light coming from the sun were turned into lightning bolts, with a bolt streaking across the flag itself. The two other factions had similar flags: one had a square in each of the four corners, while the other had quarter circles. Two of the corners thus have quarter circles while the other two have squares. The colors, blue and gold, were taken from the Kanath family crest.
