Manupolis is a small oil-rich nation in the south Pacific, governered by an egomaniac known as Immanuel Huurstang who sezied control of the former Democratic Republic of the Cook Islands in 2005. Since then he has renamed the nation, the islands, and the capital to meet with his narcissitic demands.

Government

Manupolis is isolationist, but maintains a huge military force. It is led by an insane egomaniac known as Immanuel Huurstang, who seized control of the island chaina fter toppling a democratic state in a revolution. While he has improved the common man's conditions, he has done so only barely. He runs a corrupt government based around oil revenue, and is himself a multi-billionare oil baron, and one of the world's top twenty richest men. Other officials in his government are also multi-millionaires, using an income gathered through oil profits and corruption. Taxes are extremely low, hovering at about 2%. However, few public works, aside from statues, and the occasional ferry, are built.

Economics

54% of the popualtion is employed by the oil tycoons. Manupolis imports 70% of all food, and 99% of all medical supplies. There is little industry outside the oil,, except for a vibrant fishing industry on the southern island chain.

Geography

Environment

Manupolis is an ugly place, ravaged by the oil barons. Few of the chain's natural jungles remain intact. Drug harvesting is a popular pastime ont he southernmost islands, where the government lets the locals live more or less independent of the northern regions. Perhaps ironically, these regions that are left alone seem to be relatively affluent in comparison with the rest of the country, but tribal agreements keep Huurstang from establishing formal control, outside of the occasional patrol ship.

Map

Manupolis is divided into two major regions, the oil producing Northern Manupolis, and the fishing/drug culture based Southern Manupolis. Huurstang's government is based in the North, and the southern islands live almost independent of the rest of the Federation, only compyling to edicts when the military force is present to deliver it.
