Her Imperial Highness Princess Marie (full name: Marie Jacqueline Irene Antoinette Capet) is the youngest daughter of Prince Basil and Princess Jacqueline, and only sister of Princess Helen. She is an intelligent and light-hearted young woman, whose hobbies include botanical art. She speaks French, English and Greek, and although she can't hold a conversation in it, can read Latin. Although she has no real interest in politics, she does follow them, and has performed admirably in many television interviews alongside her father, Prince Basil, on the topic of politics and specifically the United Christian Front. She hasn't been romantically linked to anybody at court, although the conventional wisdom suggests that a political marriage will be arranged for her before her twenty-fifth birthday.

In early 2005, Princess Marie was appointed as Emperor Andreus' ambassador to the Danaan High Kingdom of the Resurgent Dream. According to anonymous sources in the Pantocratorian Socialist Alliance reported by Pantocratoria's newspapers at the time, the appointment was against the recommendations of Foreign Minister Demetrios Raoul. The Foreign Minister's objections were understandable on the grounds of the new ambassador being the Leader of the Opposition's daughter alone, but were generally reported to be wider than that. Particularly the Government was reported as lacking confidence in Princess Marie on account of her youth and inexperience.

Despite the close friendship between Pantocratoria and the Resurgent Dream, becoming especially close after the Treaty of Subeita was signed cementing an alliance between the two, the relationship is often a tumultuous one. Cultural differences and domestic political sensitivities have often created strains over relatively minor issues despite the diplomatic efforts of both governments. In the Resurgent Dream, Princess Marie herself has become the focus of a good deal of the public dissatisfaction with Pantocratoria, which springs largely from social liberal political activist groups. Especially at times when Danaan public approval of the Pantocratorian alliance has temporarily fallen as a result of a culture clash or some other high-profile but diplomatically minor tension between the two allies, Princess Marie often appears to be very anxious in her public appearances and visits to the Royal Palace at Tarana. Recent rumours in the tabloid press suggest that Princess Marie is suffering from an eating disorder - anorexia or bulimia. The rumours are substantiated only by the fact that Princess Marie, who was already quite slender, has been noticeably thinner in her recent public appearances.
